Oxford escape
Hotel reception area and room welcoming start however leisure spa pool and changing area no way near the images the hotel advertised need some tlc.skylight over pool filthy and could easily be cleaned externally with power wash, ceiling over pool had brown staining horrible plastic kitchen bin by pool. Changing room shower wash despenser gaffa taped and broken doors with paint missing and a velvet chair from rooms in changing cubicle definitely not hygienic with wet costumes. Gym equipment good however could do with deep clean and bin at 7.30am full and overflowing. Gym also closes fairly early at 8pm. Hotel room 126 was facing delivery area and at 630am woken with deliveries and trollies being pushed around definitely not a room for a good sleep

Enjoyed
The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Full English was very good no complaints. Only 1 thing not enough coffee, tea or milk in the room. Specially when there is a tea drinker in there!

Lovely hotel in glorious setting.
Perfect hotel for us as a base to visit Oxford, paid for by Tesco Clubcard. We asked for a disabled person’s room and our room had a huge walk in shower which makes a real difference for me. We paid extra for breakfasts and evening meal both of which were excellent. For breakfast, we both had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on the first day and full English on the second. Both were lovely. Similarly, we had a lovely evening meal on the first night.

Very pleasant stay.
A comfortable stay and the hotel, restaurant and our room was extremely clean and fresh. The restaurant team were very nice and efficient. I have marked pleasing for service as I felt the team on reception could’ve been rather more engaging when we were checking out. There was no interest in us at all. No, “did you enjoy your stay” (I would’ve answered, yes thanks, we did) or “was everything ok” (I would’ve said yes). I chirpyly handed back a USB plug that had been lent to us, and there was no response at all. I think the young man may have been in training, so I understand nerves and trying to get all the admin correct, but the lady standing to the side of him didn’t demonstrate communication / customer engagement skills towards us for him to copy. This would’ve been a good opportunity to role model all aspects of the hospitality job in hand. Please don’t think I’m having a go, but maybe just take this feedback in the essence that it’s intended and maybe introduce some new methods of working. The restaurant team were great. Another observation I’d like to make is that the outside entrance to reception is very uninspiring as you arrive. A couple of underwhelming hanging baskets and some greenery. And a smoking area!! You have a grand entrance that should be an abundance of large pots brimming with seasonal flowers. A missed opportunity.
