Moorland retreat
Our party stayed in two rooms for almost a week. The hotel is well placed for exploring Bronte Country and the views are amazing. As is the breath of fresh moorland air. We stayed in the guest house. There are, apparently, self-catering rooms as well. The rooms are attractively furnished, if a little dated. The beds seem new, however. Good firm mattress. Thermostatically controlled central heating. The place could do with a little maintenance. The bathroom door handle was loose. The shower worked fine - but it was impossible to stop water flowing out of the bath taps as well, despite a notice on how to do it! Water was certainly hot, so hot that it could take a minute for the cold tap to run cold! (Again, there was a notice about that). Rooms are serviced on demand. Supplies were not automatically replenished, and towels are not changed unless one asks. We made our own bed each day. There are an indoor swimming pool and sauna in a large conservatory close to the main rooms. Breakfast was served in the next door Dog & Gun Inn. It was not self-service, and available only between 0730 and 0900. One must place an order the night before, stating the time at which breakfast is required. Choice is limited, and some mornings the traditional breakfast seemed overcooked. Only once was the poached egg runny, for instance, and the bacon was tough. The Inn is convenient for evening meals as well - but is a little on the expensive side.

A little gem
I was travelling alone, the welcome was warm from the staff, in the pub and in the guest house. A pretty setting ,in rolling countryside .The cosy accommodation is next to the charming pub ,it was nice to be able to order food soon after arrival ,as I had driven 300 miles and was pleased not to wait! served with no long waits. Dinner and breakfast were very good, fairly priced and My room was bright and cheerful, could not run the bath tap so had to do it via the shower! True enough, the rooms are by the roadside, but was not troublesome. On another occasion I would have tried out the pool and sauna, what a nice feature! I chose Leeming Wells as it was so close to Haworth village, which is delightful and worth the detour on my journey. I believe the guest house is dog friendly also, good to know. One small negative was the mattress was not comfortable, but otherwise a really positive stay, thank you

A generally lovely experience.
The staff was wonderful and efficient. The location is superb, and the pub is awesome. The pub quiz was riotously friendly and fun, and it was nice to have happy company and good beer even in this remote location. We enjoyed clean rooms; a lovely pool and sauna, and an excellent breakfast. Our only complaint was based upon circumstances--when we were there, the regular chef had a dental emergency, so our dinner--which had been so highly reviewed and so eagerly anticipated--was merely adequate. That doesn't mean I wouldn't give it another try if I returned--but we decided to eat sandwiches from a convenience market on the following night, rather than be disappointed again. I would still return to the hotel, however.

Perfect place
We wanted to visit Bronte country and this was the perfect place to say on the outskirts of the Moors. Place was spotless, comfortable and the food in the Dog and Gun next door was second to none. Such a wide choice, large portions and very tasty. Perfect in every way. Staff and owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. My only niggle would be that although the swimming pool looked very inviting the water was so cold that we would have loved to make more use of it. I would however highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great Location
This was a great find. The area is stunning with loads of great walks close by. Plenty of things to do in the area. The swimming pool was a great addition and even this has a fantastic view of the moors. The staff were friendly and helpful. Eating at the location is a little expensive but the quality of the food and portion size make up for it. You would be mad not to visit this place......
