Great place, - sort the breakfast! !!
Great room, dorm of 4. Atmospheric building in a good part of town. 6pm to 8am the parking is free at the meter parking 200 yards up the street. I stay on a Monday night so not sure what it's like at weekends. One point and this is for Hatters, I've stayed twice here and you've mucked up breakfast both times, the last time not one of the drinks machines were working, ie coffee machine, orange juice or the hot water boiler to make tea... now I know the bed is cheap but you did promise us a basic breakfast, and a drink of some sort is a minimum. Sort it, it's spoiling a good set up.

Kind of hard to find, some of the hallway lights were flickering, the stairs smelled moldy and the wifi didn't work.

Not for me
its a little unfair to criticize as this is just a Hostel, I was stuck in Liverpool for the night and needed somewhere very low cost just to get some sleep. I was in a dormitory with 7 other people and the chances of sleep were very little, I had a couple making out below me some other guy with the loudest snore you have heard. I'll never book a shared room ever again

great, friendly hostel in the city centre
Great hostel in an impressive Victorian building. Very central, great access to the Universities, all the sight-seeing and shopping, bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff and my room was very clean. They do free food nights and socials, young and friendly atmosphere.

To begin with, do not expect your room to look like the photos! Our room was very basic and shabby looking. Several things were broken and stuck together with tape. Our bedroom window was opaque so there was no view whatsoever. I went back to reception to complain but the receptionist was indifferent when I said I wasn't happy with the room and could I be moved to a different one, saying that 'they are all the same'. On a positive note, the communal areas were stylish and quirky. The continental breakfast was more than ample and hot drinks, although not available in your room, were available 24/7 in the Refectory. I believe that for such a cheap price that all-in-all the stay was good value but just be prepared for a very plain bedroom!
