Fast check in & out, staff were very friendly & helpful. Pillow is too flat, bed n blanket is comfortable. Room is too small for us (2 Asian XL size). After we open our luggage (1 M size & 1 L size), totally no walking space. Need to climb on bed to cross to the other side. Toilet is very small too therefore movement very restricted when showering. Hotel was near either fire station or hospital. Because keep hearing siren (very disturbing). Weather was cold therefore aircon only got warming effect, ask hotel staff can switch to cold air or not but was being rejected although the aircon is not centralize (got controller in room). So left with no choice we need to open the window inorder for our room to be cold. But again open window, the siren sound is very very loud. Location is very accessible, exit A1 from higashi shinjuku & can see the hotel immediately. Note that this exit only got stairscase down, no escalator down therefore after check out we have to move our heavy luggage down the stairs for the train taking. 24hrs McDonald’s, coco ichiban, pepper lunch opposite. Many other restaurant opposite too. Hotel right turn got cafe & Lawson convenient stall. Hotel left turn got very nice bbq beef restarant & Lawson supermarket. 24hrs sushi shop nearby too. Will consider coming back for the sake of the location.

Train your staff to smile and better attitude
Even though the hotel claimed to be recently renovated, the place still looks dated, but the Japanese cleanliness standard is still superb. The room is pretty small due to Japanese standard, but the bathroom seems to be a bit smaller than other hotels we used to stay in Tokyo. The hotel allowed us to leave the luggage 3 days prior to our check-in date, which we found pretty useful, as we had to leave Tokyo and spent 2 nights in Hakone. The hotel is right next to Subway and Metro stations (Oedo line and Fukutoshin line), which is quite convenient if you mainly travel by these line. However the JR station is quite a bit far to walk to. The hotel is surrounded by all brands of convenience stores, and a short walk to Don Quijote. The most disappointing thing about this hotel and the main reason we will not stay here again is about the staffs. All staffs behind the counter that we met never smile or show any service mind or welcoming attitude. It looks like they were forced to work. Sometimes we felt like we begged them to stay at this hotel, instead of paying money. Actually, all staffs were at the back office, every time we need to call them by pressing the ring at the counter. On the check-out date, I pressed like 10 times, but no one came, I waited there for 15 minutes, someone showed up. I asked him about the ring, and he just replied so easily that "oh, I guess it might be broken". It is one of the worst experiences we ever had with the hotel staffs. Would want to return!

It was our first time in Japan and it was a relief to be able to locate our hotel at night with no trouble. This location is very accessible especially since it is right beside the Higashi-Shinjuku metro station. It helped that this hotel is also walking distance from the main sights, convenience stores, restaurants and bars in Shinjuku so that if you wanted to stay out late and the metro's no longer running it wouldn't be an issue. The hotel rooms in this building are very tiny with no exaggeration. We had two full size luggages and we struggled maneuvering around the room when they were left open. We literally had to step over our belongings on the ground as every inch of the room was occupied by something. The washroom space is very tight as well and the tub is small that you would be able to touch the walls on either side lengthwise with bent elbows. The rooms could be cleaner as the curtains were stained and the space underneath the bed don't get vacuumed. You do have the option of getting the room cleaned everyday and they will replace the towels and complimentary toiletries daily as well. However, they do not vacuum everyday if you get the room cleaned so it would be beneficial to remove your shoes at the entrance as per their cultural customs and take advantage of the slippers they provide which are replaced daily. Other than that, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate staying here again in the future. The accessibility is worth it!

Good location, ok room, skip the breakfast
Location is convenient for exploring Shinjuku as well as much of the Tokyo area with a subway station next to the hotel and bus stops very close by. It is a 10-12 min walk to the bustling area of Shinjuku which has some nice shopping and dining. The rooms are small but that is to be expected with the price. We did not find the bed comfortable at all and did not care for the pillows. They were all too hard for our comfort. The bathroom does have a small tub and while very tiny is what one would expect for a western style bathroom. The hotel is very clean and I found it quite when we were in the room. I would not advise paying for the breakfast with booking. It is at the Tully's Coffee and while the coffee was good the food options are very limited and you can find better in the area. Word of advise if you are coming directly in from a long flight. You will not be able to check in early. 3:00 PM check in was firmly adhered to. There was a luggage drop that was secure but if you are coming in from a long haul and want to relax in your room you will need to plan arrival accordingly. Overall the E Hotel location worked well for the 3 nights that we stayed and for the price was a value option.

Service should be worked upon.
Even though it was next to a train station, very few connections were from this spot. The main station which one must use to get around is a good 10-12 minutes walk from the hotel. So the money i thought i would save on travel (by paying more for hotel) was not really saved. I infact only used the train station near the hotel once (paying twice the price of the other train ticket) The main shopping area, restaurants and nightlife area of Shinjuku is 12 minute walk away from the hotel. Their service during our stay, and especially post our stay was disappointing. We were charged extra 3000 Yen, and now there is no way to get it back. The rooms are EXTREMELY tiny with no safe. Though, they have fit everything essential in a smart way. The washroom was the smallest I have ever seen and used, though the water temperature + speed never had issues. The socket would not allow my sister to use her hairdryer as the power output is controlled. Don't know if I would stay here again. Maybe ONLY if there is a good deal going on, and to play in the baseball arcade arena nearby.
