Oakwood House Hotel
NOT a romantic hotel as advertised.FEEL CHEATED
Hotel . Com advertise this place as a romantic hotel.u drive u a path surrounded by educational buildings. This is a dark and dingy conference centre with dark corridors that smell like a hospital , stained carpets, old beds and scaly was my partner birthday .we walked in and out in ten minutes .my partner booked the bridge wood manor 10 minutes drive away and we went there .ive asked for a refund and still waiting. It ruined my partners birthday.Dissappointed that hotel .com have advertised this place. Its not a true description of what your paying for.if I get no refund I will not be booking anymore hotels with this company

Hotel is mainly conference centre with rooms. Menu on bar was not very exciting and prices were quite high

Oakwood House Hotel
Not my idea of a hotel.
This is not a hotel - it is a training centre with accomodation. The room was overheated and the bathroom radiator did not respond to the thermostat being turned down - even to the frost setting. There was no restaurant that could be called such - it was bar with tables. The food was freshly cooked to good pub standard. I did not appreciate room cleaning staff not saying good morning nor opening doors ahead of me and leaving them to close in my face. The standard of staff training is not that of a hotel. The accomodation package of half board was good value for money.
