Made to feel very welcome and looked after
My wife and I had a really great stay with Joanne and Dave at the Royal Hotel. Right from check-in to check-out we were made to feel really welcome by our cheerful hosts, as well as the pub patrons and fellow hotel guests. The breakfast was absolutely spot on. We also had an evening meal which was delicious (and thanks to Dave for sorting us out so swiftly despite a busy pub as we had to somewhere to be). Their beer was local and very well kept. The room was cosy, clean and had everything you would need for a short stay. The setting and scenery was really nice. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area

I was in Sheffield centre for a couple of days, I didn't want to stay in the centre so I looked further afield. The hotel s in a very peaceful position, very good decision.

very friendly helpful staff, nice location,within easy reach of main towns and Castles,Museums etc. lovely countryside. would have liked small fridge for milk as no breakfast provide and husband missed his Kellogs cornflakes! good basic accomodation ,shower and loo , comfortable bed , nice meals at night in friendly old pub , what more could you really need when grabbing a few days away? We were well satisfied (except for the cornflakes!).
