Alistair was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the harbour at Tarbert. The room was tastefully done and very comfortable. There were nice little touches eg fridge in room, sweets in a jar. The guest rooms were above shops. It was a doctors house with pharmacy underneath and surgery at the back. The parking was on the street but it was free and we got a space ok. The guest house is right in the middle of Tarbert at the harbour very convenient for the restaurants and shops. It is a beautiful little town and an ideal spot to stay to travel the Kintyre peninsula, which is also very beautiful. I would certainly return here if we travel to that region again.

A great find. All in all no real negative observations other than our room being a little cramped but with a great view. Our host was more than up to the job. A great breakfast, service and choice' promptly served with a smile at all times. Thank you very much.

We needed to stay over on our way to the Islay ferry so that we didn’t have a rush from our previous stopping place. This guest house met all our requirements - and more. We were able to make our leisurely way after excellent rest and recuperation.

Knap House is a luxurious B and B in the heart of Tarbert village. Host Alistair provides great hospitality, also cooks breakfast to order. Excellent stay in all respects.

Great night sleep in very comfy bed. Arrived late due to long drive but was given clear details of how to let ourselves in. Excellent breakfast and lovely host.

Our one night stay was very comfortable, the Room had so many interesting pieces of Art, everywhere you look there is something to admire. The Room consisted of a very larger Lounge, two Settees, Armchair, Writing Desk, various Seats and Furniture, Log Fire, Fridge and more. Alister greased us at the Door then showed us the communal Kitchen and Dinning area followed by our large Lounge and Bedroom, he had also provided us with two small Bottles of Wine (Red & White), Local Cheese and Biscuits. Breakfast the following Morning was all cooked freshly and to perfection, Alister did it all while we were sat in the open plan Kitchen/ Dinning Room, a very skilful man. Alister gave us some suggestions for our Evening dinning which was very helpful, we eventually choose Cafe Ca'Dora, it looks like a standard Seaside Cafe, however the Menu and very well prepared food was of a top end Restaurant, especially the Scollops, the best we have had for many years. Thank You Alister!

Shower was excellent plenty of hot water and even though by the main road no noise at night breakfast on the day we left set us up for the day will definitely book again next yeat
