Good location, poor hotel standards. Not 4*.

Room key system was not working so couldn’t give keys to rooms. Staff let you into room manually but then you had no power or lighting. These things happen but meant you had to use a torch to go to the toilet etc. Air conditioning did not work and was in error state. This wasn’t advised on check in despite it being known. No hot breakfast is available at the hotel despite it being available to book. Pre booked breakfasts are a very expensive continental box. These are only available if you book prior to arrival however you don’t find this out until you arrive. The car park is chargeable and full of weeds. Would be worthwhile to spend some of the car park money in tidying it up. Staff were really friendly through which was great and the location is good just a pity about the hotel experience. Tried to contact hotels.com but staff were awful on phone and eventually put me on hold and cut the call off twice. Still haven’t returned my call.

Disappointing breakfast - provided and no car park

Inadequate car parking so arrive early if you want a space , no breakfast available - Disappointing breakfast - provided was a brown paper bag outside of door with juice yogurt and a cardboard pastry. Great view of river but downside was the constant noise of Seagulls " All Night"

    STAY HERE!

I enjoyed a spacious well decorated room where I was able to work in the day and sleep in the very comfortable beds at night. The location was quiet and close to the riverside. The staff were pleasant and checking in out and was very efficient. Everything was clean and took into account additional restrictions for those wishing to prevent covid transmissions

Room was nice. Over looking Quay side. However the Air Conditioning unit was not working. We weren’t told until we actually tried to use it. Which was when we had been out for the day. They did give us a fan. However it was still warm. On checking out the car park should have cost us £17 pounds. They didn’t charge us. Which was appreciated.

Wont be staying again, horrible customer service

Customer service dreadful checking in the assistant was rude, Booked breakfast and a bag was left outside my room £10 for £1.50 worth of food and not what i had booked, Asked for a refund and told to contact hotels.com who’s current wait time is 2 hours to speak to someone so won’t be seeing a refund. Wont be staying again, vile customer service and mis-sold breakfast that I can’t get a refund on that was given back to the reception.

Lovely place to stay. Clean, friendly staff

Lovely clean hotel, helpful and friendly staff that were working Thursday 1st July night time. One lady was called Janis and not sure on the other ladies name. Very reasonably priced for such a nice hotel! The floor we was on was very quiet also. Family friendly and also would be a good place to stay if visiting with friends as it’s so close to Newcastle pubs etc. Only downside really is that there isn’t much parking available. We arrived late on the evening and had to park on the single yellow lines but had to move the car by 8am which isn’t the best as I had to get up early when I wanted to relax and have a sleep in. Apart from that perfect

Fab bed and shower. Hairdryer over heated on first evening, contacted reception and was told someone would bring me another one right up but it didn't arrive, luckily the one in the room cooled down and worked again, no one arrived with another one, told reception when we were going out over an hour later that we no longer needed a new one....they had forgotten about it! Tea, coffee, milk, towels not replenished on our second day, had to ask as reception for more on our return to our room when we returned late afternoon.

had to wait an age for the barrier to go up to allow me into the car park, then had to get out of my car to request they raise the barrier after staff repeatedly ignored me
