Carcasonne is a beautiful and memorable city unlike any other. Hotel du Chateau is an equally beautiful and memorable hotel. This hotel has it all: excellent staff and great service, a brilliant location just steps from the city, a secure and private car park, a pool and other amenities, and to top it all off, the breakfast was superb. Lovely small and quiet hotel, just a few steps outside the city walls of old Carcassonne. Easy to get to from the airport by bus. We didn't have, or need a car. Friendly staff. Bar is open all day for hot/cold drinks and snacks. Only minor criticism of the room was that there was no fridge although to be fair, the room was quite small and there was not really space for one.
