Mostly Good
Lovely room, venue and location but spoilt one night by the constant noise of an extractor left on on the floor below.

Dartington Hall Hotel
Lovely location but accommodation not great
Booked this hotel based on distance to my work location but was not the cheapest on offer. Check in experience was good. Booked a room with a separate bathroom (I hadnt realised this, so my error) but they accommodated me in an en-suite single room for an upgrade cost.) Staff very helpful. Room was much smaller than the photos showed. Cleanliness of passageways and stairwells not great. Main bedroom was ok but bathroom very disappointing. Bin not emptied, razor cover on sink and hair on the window ledge. Back of radiator was really dirty but I guess its hard to clean this area but its very visible when using the bathroom. Bed was comfortable but locatoin of room meant you could hear other guests outside and in the stairwells/corridors around.

Lovely stay, lots to explore locally
Really lovely stay, lots to explore locally as well the facilities within Dartington Hall. Having been coming to Dartington to 6 years, the dinner menu has been disappointing recently both in quality and pricing.

Peaceful place to stay
Stayed here 3 times now whilst working in Devon, really peaceful, lovely setting and grounds and very close to Totnes where I work.

Dartington Hall Hotel
This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. It is essentially the most expensive hostel you could stay in. 1. The room wasn't particularly clean and the shower definitely wasn't. 2. There was a loud event in the main hall until 1am, which continued into the accommodation (it was a Tuesday night and I was staying ahead of an important work meeting and 3 hours of sleep is not ideal). Not being able to open the window because of it made things even worse as that is the only form of air conditioning 3. There was no hot water using the shower 4. I accidentally left expensive hair straighteners and despite knowing exactly where I'd left them, they'd magically "disappeared" within 2 hours of me leaving at 730am (and no one answers the phone when you call - probably for the reason below). 5. No one is at the reception so don't expect any service of quick check outs (NB there is one person who seems to cover a lot of jobs so it their fault and perfectly pleasant) 6. The only plugs are on the floor so not the safest way to boil a kettle etc, especially if you want to take kids 7. As I've never left a bad review, I tried to resolve by emailing the Estate - no response and not even an acknowledgement. The only positive we're the estate grounds - emaculately maintained and a nice setting. However you can see those for free and would save the pain of staying here! I honestly wish I'd slept in the car!
