hotel lovely only problem tried to book a table for evening meal was told only time available was 6.30 too early for us in the brasserie this was reception when checking in so i went into the main restaurant myself to see if there was any availability was told no problem so booked in for 20.15 meal wonderful only downside was reception giving me false restaurant availability

Arrival >> You checked in, not welcomed and spent 15 mins waiting to find our reservation.>> Booking the Brassiere>> Last orders 9pm, but you must be in at 8:15pm! >> Brassiere >> 4 young chaps running around with their shirts untucked and stressed. No manager, no direction. Sat us on a dirty table. Ordered white which was just to warm on the table. Tried to moule marinere it’s sold out, everything was sold out other than deep fried food! We are not lying at what happened next. Waiter came over he said can I take your order and to proceeded to write our order on the back of his hand!! Luckily we have a wicked sense of humour and still laughing about it now!>> We sat there as the comedy chaos unfolded. One waiter passing thought he’d leave his create of J2O’s on one of the dining tables with a half full restaurant whilst popping to the toilet! The menu it said last order 9:30pm and why we were told 8.30. ‘Ohhh that’s because the chef’s want to be home by 9.30 its not the time for last orders'!>> One waiter sat a create of clean glasses on the floor whilst everyone hopped over them - H&S? The 'tia maria coffee' comedy value 10. This took 25 mins and a fine instant Nescafe!>> Breakfast >> Greeted by the chap on reception shouting 'yeah that’s the mother of the bride she’s totally an?l.’ Absolutely disgraceful >> Checking out >> There was a flat £50 overcharge charge for food which we are still waiting for!

The hotel is magnificent and the woodland setting is relaxing with beautiful scenery. The cost of the room was good value and the staff were first class from a warm welcoming, excellent food and service to final check out. We will certainly look to visit again

Fantastic facilities and very helpful and welcoming staff

As a single business traveller I felt a bit out of place, with lots of couples in the bar, restaurant, etc. Wifi not the best either.Great for a romantic weekend away I imagine.
