Great for a low cost stay in the middle of London
I've stayed at Bankside before and like the location and think it is a great venue for a low cost stay right in the heart of London. I particularly like that it is right next to Tate Modern which stays open late on Friday and Saturday evenings. I had an ensuite single room. The room was fine and quite large. The ensuite was clean, but not really shiniest in terms of appearance, but not unpleasant. Last time I stayed (last year) the bed had given way a bit too easily, but this time it was fine. The breakfast was good and great value since it was included.

Great Budget Accommodation
If you're looking for a B&B in central London this is a great place to stay at a good (by London standards) rate. The rooms are basic (no TV or air conditioning) as they are student accommodation most of the year but the whole building is impeccably clean....and that's from my wife who used to work in high quality hotels. The walls are a little thin so I think it would be different if you happened to be next door to a stag night group but thankfully we weren't so it wasn't too bad. Put another way, I'm autistic and I slept through the night. The breakfast buffet is really tasty with an excellent choice - just as good as the 4* hotel in Slough we stayed in the night before. If you want luxury you won't get it here but if you want a central London bed for the night in a clean safe place with a hearty breakfast this is highly recommended.

Comfortable, clean and excellent value.
Excellent position, spacious and roomy, quiet and clean. Some of the shower fittings were a bit tired if I wanted to be ultra picky but everything worked properly. Outstanding value though. Thoroughly recommended.

Happy to stay again.
Staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived early and allowed me to store luggage before check in. It allowed me to explore London and not waste a day. It all felt very secure without being overbearing. I came back from a night out and there were three (very polite) security staff at reception asking for security passes. Breakfast was excellent. A good choice well presented and prepared.

Great location!
Fantastic location, with a view from my room of the Tate and the river (just!). For what I needed, can't fault. Shame no aircon, but fans supplied. Despite the one of the hottest couple of days on record, it wasn't too bad. As it's used as student accommodation during term time, the rooms no doubt suffer their fair share of wear and tear. I suppose the room could do with a repaint at some point, but now I'm being fussy! Lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so all practicalities taken care of. Was out too early to sample the breakfast.

Great value for money
These are the LSE student halls that become Bed & Breakfast during the summer. It's really good value for money, and in really good location. The room is spacious for a student room, it had a really nice view to the Shard but it doesn't have ensuite shower, which is shared with other rooms. But generally it was clean so no problems. There's also a very good breakfast buffet included. What I didn't like is that the kitchen doesn't have cutlery.
