Exceptional 10.0
The best hostel I have stayed in
Very clean, spacious, safe, central, friendly staff.

Noisy!
Friendly staff and cool place but just too noisy. Didn’t get much sleep.

Good but minor improvements would make it great!
The place itself was a beautiful old building, renovated just enough to make it comfortable without spoiling its rustic charm. we enjoyed the old fashioned elevators, although the nature of these meant we had to take the stairs to the third floor from time to time if someone had forgotten to close one of the doors. A consideration for those who have mobility issues. We stayed in a superior suite on the third floor. Our room had a semi-private roof terrace with an amazing view over Lisbon and was spacious with all the furniture necessary to make it home for a few days. It was very dark, which was perfect for a light sleeper like me. There are building works in the square opposite, so take earplugs or ask for a room at the back of the hotel if these are likely to bother you. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was the perfect start to the day, sheltered with a light breeze blowing through and great views over Lisbon. The food was tasty and Lourdes very welcoming! The location is good, just a short walk into the centre or to transport links. It's very close to the lively Bairro Alto if bar-hopping is your thing. My only complaint is about the bedding and towels. The pillows in particular were very cheap and not especially comfortable. The bed linen was clean but not great quality, and the towels were thin and only one per person. For the price I paid I had expected these fundamental items to be of a much higher quality.

Beautiful hostel-just don't bring a heavy suitcase
The walk to the hostel from the station is a long road completely paved with cobble. Don't bring a heavy suitcase. The staff was extremely helpful! The hostel is beautiful & across from a miradouro. Unfortunately when I was there, all the sangria stands there were closed.

Worth but BEWARE
It was a nice hostel and there was a kitchen area too. It needs some more supplies especially when there are a lot of people in the hostel. The general area of the hostel always had a smell of bathroom which is unpleasant to come back from after a long day. I would suggest an air freshener in all bathrooms and one in the hallway too. The people working at the hostel were very nice and helpful but the people that stayed with us in the hostel room thought it was their house and would do whatever they wanted at all hours which is really annoying. I think there should be an age limit for the hostel as well because when older people of 55+ stay in the hostel with you for New Year's Eve and all they want to do is sleep, it can be annoying for everyone. Breakfast hours vary a lot even though they tell you that it is from 7:30-10:30. The people start cleaning up at 10:15 and they also do not restock coffee or other supplies. Once they are gone, they are gone. Also I think the hallways should have motion sensor lights because they are always on which is wasteful and unnecessary throughout the day and night. Oddly enough though the room lights only stay on for about three mins and then shut off. They are also not bright and extremely pointless to have. Good thing there are bed side lights which are super bright. But if you have the very top bunk like I did then you are out of luck and have to use your phone all the time. We had the room right above the bar which blasts music until 1am.
