DO NOT STAY HERE!!! EVER!!!
This is hotel is absolutely ridiculously bad. I would not stay here again ever! We first arrived and let me tell you the pictures you see are not the rooms you get! I can deal with dated rooms and furniture however dirty stained bedsheets is when it goes too far! We got reception to change the room they did the guys was nice the only thing that could be said that’s positive. The second room was better kinda resembled the photos abit. But again bed sheets exactly the same only this time they were burnt and ripped. Here’s the best part when I asked the cleaner to change them the response was there not stained it’s just a rip (and what looked to be a cigerette burn. The cleaner reluctantly changed the sheets and covers and let’s just say the “clean” one that we’re put on weren’t clean. The room was so bad my beautiful girlfriend had to steal the woman’s cleaning spray to clean around the room. But wait oh there is more.... as my girl used a towel to clean the room she asked the cleaners for another towel and the reply was you need to ask reception lol yes you need to ask reception for another towel, so we did and told her guess what no towel ever showed ;(. Then the pinochle of our stay the bed wow how bad the bed was we actually woke up with back problems. But wait there is more... at 11am the cleaners knocked on the door demanding we check out as 11am was check out I’m we explained just getting our things together she proceeded to argue with her about getting out the room.

Even a pig would not want to stay in this sty
Not sure what type of English the chap on the front desk was speaking but my wife and I manage to decipher the grunt of our room number and we were pointed to the general direction of the lift. After finding our room we wished we hadn't bothered the toilet couldn't be used as the toilet seat was broken, only two bulbs worked in the whole room the bathroom was so dark I think if you had a shave in it you would come out looking like a zombie add this to the peeling wallpaper and the general dirty appearance of the room I asked us to be transferred to another room, this was done without question we found a slight improvement apart from the fact that the bath was in such a poor state that you could only really use the shower and the floor tiles were also cracked and broken and this room also was in desperate need of a overhaul. The next day on returning to the hotel we noted that a van in the carpark had the lights left on I explained this to the woman on the front desk and she took the piece of paper with the registration number on it but I couldn't tell you what she looked like as her head didn't move at all (perhaps she had a bad neck) avoid this dump at all costs.

Disappointing stay, would not recommend
I booked 2 twin rooms, one for me and my boyfriend and one for my sister and niece (who is 6 years old), for a one night stay. The first thing I noticed was the bad smell in the hotel, which smelt of damp, but it got worse when I stepped into my sisters room which unfortunately smelt like urine! My room wasn't as bad, but there was an old water bottle lid left on the sink and tissue on the floor of the bathroom. When we came back to the hotel after a night out, there was a security guard who asked us questions before they allowed us into our room. He said that he couldn't let my boyfriend in the room because it was booked only for one person (which wasn't correct) and that we would have to pay £15 extra if he wanted to stay. It took 15 minutes for us to resolve the issue and for them to realise that the room had in fact been booked for 2 people. We were then kept up all night by people screaming in the corridors which surprised me given the security that had stopped us earlier. After a few hours I eventually ended up calling the reception to make a noise complaint. In conclusion, I personally wouldn't stay in the hotel again and wouldn't recommend it even for a one night stay.

Not a hotel you want to stay at
After our recent stay at the collection hotel I was highly disappointed of the hospitality, cleanliness of this hotel. Working. In hospitality for several years, I’m open to give anywhere a chance whether they have bad ratings or reviews. The collection hotel certainly will be a place I will never stay again. When me and my partner arrived and went to check in. The receptionist wasn’t welcoming at all very rude and only said 2 words to us. Which I’m pretty sure 1 key factor of a recetionist job role is to greet your quest and make them feel welcome that was not the case at all. When we arrived to our room the door was already open and the door had been damaged so this lead to us double checking the door every time we left the room as it wasn’t shutting probably. When we settled down into the room to believe that the room was clean, my partner dropped a battery which went under the bed. When we lifted the bedup we couldn’t believe what was underneath, beer cans, fag butts endless amount of rubbish wrappers, moldy food etc. I actually Took photos as we was in shock of how dirty it was. I’m lead to believe that in majority hotels to maintain the standards that keep guests coming back, the hotel housekeeping department or the room attendants should follow a series of detailed procedures and cleaning practices. A systematic approach can save energy, time, money and also increase the guest satisfaction level. Obviously none of the above are put in place with this hotel.

book a chain hotel instead
the hotel looks way better in images. i booked a queen room expecting a decent level of decor, cleanliness and ameneties but instead i was given a room with a chandelier that had one bulb working, the side bed lights werent working either and the bathroom lights were also broken. i called the reception immediately and the guy who i spoke to (the only nice thing about the stay was the initial receptionist we dealt with) was kind enough to change our room. we got offered a smaller but minimally better room at which point we considered requesting a refund but didnt want to bother with the hassle. room was relatively clean but the pillows were stained (definitely semen), burn marks and we were given very basic amenities. the iron was awful, only one towel between us two adults and no extra pillows (had to request them). as something that was the top of the ‘recommended’ list on expedia, im highly disappointed. i guess the best thing about the hotel was the car park which felt safe and convenient. the receptionist lady on our checkout date was the most awful woman ive ever met. a late checkout was prearranged for free with our initial receptionist so on the morning of checkout i called to let them know. this moody lady at the reception refused to believe that this was prearranged and kept accusing me of trying to secure a free extra hour of stay. she was a disgrace and very patronising. awful customer service.
