The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. We rented a room with a hot tib and due to storms the hot tub stopped functioning. We were told it could not be fixed and because we used expedia we could not get a refund for the loss of the amenity we paid for. Once they determined that the hot tub could not be fixed they should have offered another room or some other accommodation. Not handled well from my perspective.

We stayed two nights in the luxury suite in the hotel annex. Whilst I was initially concerned having already booked the hotel, and then read many of the reviews, I cannot complain about the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are beautifully appointed, clean, modern and stylish. Yes, they are close to the train station, yes they are in a dense, residential apartment block. That said, we were there to see Santa Margherita and Portofino. No issues at all with noise during the night. Breakfast was great, welcoming and attentive service, secure parking and excellent concierge service. May be some guests, based on some reviews are setting different expectations for a 5 star hotel. If you are looking for a “hotel” holiday with piano bars, private beaches and grandiose buildings, may be this boutique hotel is not what you are expecting. That said, this hotel feels fairly priced and I would return.

Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable. The bathroom was also big and well appointed. The breakfast buffet was very good. The only negative thing I would say is that we didn't know you needed to pay extra to use the pool 20 Euro per person. They should advertise this more prominently.

RECOMENDABLE 100% We chose the destination of Santa Margherita Ligure and the hotel without knowing which one would be the best on the Ligurian coast, but I recommend it 1000%! We stayed for 3 nights — the hotel is new, with all the comforts, the staff was very kind and helpful, everything was excellent. All the services were great, and the location is ideal: close to the town center and the train station. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 100%!

The hotel, staff and facilities were all fantastic. The size of our room was great (quite large) and we were looked after wonderfully well. The only negative was the taxi the hotel arranged to take us to Chiavari. The taxi was run down, the driver was 'off hand' and he charged 150 Euro's ...despite us querying the amount. On the way in from the same location we paid 58 Euro's so 'ripped off'

The property was lovely. The staff was exceptional. They allowed us to check in a bit early and stored our luggage until we got back from lunch. Then they personally escorted us to our room . We did not partake of the breakfast. It cost 30 euro per person and we thought that was a bit pricey for the amount of food that we eat for breakfast. We walked two blocks and had a great breakfast for about 15 euro instead of 60 euro. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel in the back. Very modern rooms, white, bright but small.

Great location between train station and downtown and ferry docks to Portofino, Fruttoso, etc. We based here to explore Cinque Terre, Portofino and Santa Margherita Hotel features an excellent gym, helpful and engaged staff, clean rooms, solid WiFi and seems dog friendly. The property is well maintained and looks much younger and hipper than the 20 years it’s been around. I’d definitely would stay at LHP again. Did not try food or drinks, but breakfast was 30 euros per person.
