Pleasant Staff, Nice Relaxing Stay
Enjoyed my 2 night stay at Almond Beach Resort/Jaguar Reef and would return. Well-maintained, and beautiful. Escorted to your room, mini tour and make sure you're settled. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I had a massage while there and it was fantastic. My only concerns were the car sent to pick me up (which I arranged and paid for in advance) was rather beat up with a cracked windshield. I understand standards may be different in Belize, but at that price, I expect a better vehicle with some type of logo or confirmation they are from the resort. The driver was not whose ID hung in the vehicle. It looked sketchy but turned out quite fine. Overall; good ride and he was pleasant and helpful. The resort beach is okay - don't expect clear blue water - still, its very relaxing and beautiful. I enjoyed the cabanas, room and fresh squeezed juice. Bed was squeaky and moved constantly. I got some pineapple juice from the COFFEE SHOP and didn't taste it till I got to my room; it tasted alcoholic &strong ; I realized it had begun to ferment which means it was NOT fresh squeezed and gave me a very bad sore throat. In passing, I was chatting with other guests prior to this and they mentioned having issues with the coffee shop payment and getting change from the staff there -management may address. That was the only area I felt service was lacking at the resort. They did mix up my bill with the suite next door with similar name and that had to be redone; may want to pay attention to that.

Great Stay
This property is first class, especially for the price. The rooms are spacious, new, clean, and the vibe is perfect for a tropical beach stay. The only minor disappointment is that the water is not the crystal clear water like in other parts of the Caribbean, and the sand is a little rough as well. Other than that, the facility itself is wonderful, staffed by nice people, and the price for what you get is outstanding. There are endless activities in terms of kayaks, hammocks, sailing, and excursions through the property. I would highly recommend renting a car to get there and to get around. It rained for a few days while we were there, and our rental car allowed us to get off of the property and into the Cockscomb Wildlife area. As the Adventure Desk told us, the rain ruins everything. When we pulled into the town itself, we were shocked at how horrible the road conditions are, how underdeveloped the village is. That, however, is what leads to its charm, and we literally slept with the front door wide open our last night so that we could enjoy the ocean air and hear the waves. We felt that safe.

You'll not be disappointed
My husband and I had never been to Belize. Our trip was wonderful except for the rain :(. This Resort is made by it's people. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Although it rained or was overcast most of our trip we still enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large and very clean. We ate at the resort for breakfast everyday and dinner 3 out of 5 nights. The food was very good and reasonable. We actually stayed at Almond Beach but Jagger Reef is right next door and both had pools. The beach was is just what you ask for when you go to a beach resort. The resort offers a lot of excursions, while we only went snorkeling, remember it was raining, we talked to other who had taken in other excursions. All were happy with their experiences, with the offerings and the excursions themselves. I don't think anyone would go wrong taking a trip to this resort. The only factor you need to be aware of is, it is a long drive to the resort but once there you won't be disappointed. Also the management is working to upgrade many of the rooms and the resort itself. Some of the new rooms we saw looked awesome. Enjoy your stay!

Rotten stay!
The AC in the room broke down two nights in a row...finally decided to take their offer to upgrade to a different Unit...first we were told that we would be moving next door on a lower level....we walked a little further than next door and had to climb 3 flights of stairs!!!! My husband has very bad knees and they totally just lied! Then they told us that the 2 nights prior would be FREE of charge and it took 48hours to get a confirmation email regarding that issue. Not very accommodating, food was so mediocre, location on the beach was great, but because of their recent hard rains, the water was brown ! and dirty!!!! Never going back there again NOR would I recommend this place to anyone else !
