Amazing place.

Cooinda Lodge Kakadu
Limited options inside Kakadu NP. Courtesy shuttle to Yellowwater cruise leaves from hotel - good ie for sunrise cruise. Hotel bar and restaurant were unfortunately repeatedly visited by intoxicated non-hotel guests during the evening, which caused a bad atmosphere. I hope management finds a way to deal with this (according to their comments, these are regular occurrences). As a result, walk back to rooms/ bungalows felt unsafe.

No WiFi staying in Hotel room... shame for this place has been running for many decades.

Excellent area to obtain an appreciation for the indigenous people and how long they have lived on this earth.

Poor self catering facilities
The bedrooms were fine. The self catering facilities were poor. This is the third time I have stayed at Cooinda and each time the kitchen facilities have been inadequate. The stove tops are generally the problem and so boiling food are nearly impossible. Only one microwave provided on the whole site (where there are two kitchens) so reheating is also difficult. It is a great place if you want to eat in the restaurant but poor if you want to self cater.
