Parking difficult due to event in hotel. We paid for an executive double room, the bed was very small and uncomfortable, definitely not a double so if booking be aware. Description indicates a restaurant, there is not one and breakfast is not served on a Monday. The location was ideal for where we wanted to go. We will not book again sorry.

10/10 Exceptional

A more traditional hotel, with lots of period features. We received a warm welcome from the staff. The Executive Room we had been allocated had a huge, and very comfortable, bed, and there was plenty of space in the room, with good hanging space and a sofa in the bay window. The bathroom was a little dated, but entirely functional. The hotel is close to the centre, but has lots of free parking to the rear. We did not have breakfast. We would definitely use this hotel in the future.

Good location

Stayed here as visiting an event in Melton Mowbray. Good location only a short walk in to town. We had room 35 which was a large sized room. Had quite a low ceiling though.

6/10 Good

Convenient for the town, clean and comfortable, just small irritations, broken window blinds, telly controller stuck together with glue and very fragile, too few usable plugs for phone charging

6/10 Good

The property is dated and in need of some refurbishment. The staff had only been in place for 3 days after a takeover(?) but were friendly and helpful as possible. The room was big and had a huge bathroom. The shower was not powerful and a towel ring would have been useful near the sink rather than us trailing water across the floor. However, all the above things taken into account, we would return there next year to see what had been done with the place.

Good stand by

Disppointed with the room as on booking it appeared to be on the ground floor, ideal for my husband who has mobility issues, but on arrival it was on the second floor up some steep stairs, not ideal. I had checked in on line as requested but when we got there the receptionist had no knowledge of this and we had to go through the whole proceedure again. Irritating. The shower was tiny and the whole place could do with some refurbishment. Not much choice for breakfast although what we got was beautifully cooked. On weekdays stops serving at 9am so no late mornings. Suggest talking to the hotel before booking.

4/10 Fair

Not 3 star, but could be…

The place had been and could be a fantastic hotel, however it’s not a 3 star rated. Attention to details - poor maintenance - tired decor. Electric extension leads used. Door partly blocked by furniture. Rooms big, but noisy from traffic. Breakfast not included in rate. Site says APPROXIMATELY £9.50, inferring it might not be price paid or calculated - check and confirm when paying. Restaurant not open on Monday. Bar seems to shut early ( closed on return at 9.30pm) Breakfast was good, although for the price the Wetherspoon is a better bet. We did eat once and the Indian food was good. The hotel needs serious refurbishment and investment. Although we wouldn’t return, it’s probably ideal for the businessman on a budget.
Poor repair
