Aysgarth House
Proprietors friendly enough. Rooms tiny. Bathroom so small had to open badly fitting sliding door for room to dress. No shelves for toiletries and nowhere to hang wet towels. Bath mat seemed to be a small door mat. Mould in shower, and no loo roll holder. There was a constant smell of cigarettes as the owners smoked. Discovered had to pay separately for breakfast when was booked thinking it was b&b as advertised . Tried to have a quiet drink with friend in evening but each time one of the owners kept coming and sitting with us talking about their children, and at one point brought in a lap top and with no invitation proceeded to show us all of the shows their son had been in - despite my friend & I having been in the middle of a conversation. My room was supposed to be a triple, but the double and single bed were right against the wall with just enough space for a chipped set of 3 drawers and a broken middle drawer - the owner told me that I should have been charged £20 more a night for the room, but they were phoned by Hotels.com and agreed to honour the agreed amount. Therefore I suppose that was their way of telling me I should be grateful. Perhaps that's why I had to pay extra for mine and my son's breakfasts The seafront was lovely, but the whole area back from that was quite rundown and not somewhere I would like to be on my own at night My friend and her son had a much smaller room than us which meant she had to share a double bed with her son

A great stay in Blackpool
We had an amazing stay at Aysgarth House. Lyn and Richie gave us a warm welcome upon arrival, our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast we had Wednesday was delicious we had a choice of cereals but we waited for our cooked breakfast which was well worth paying extra. I'd forgotten to take my hairdryer so my husband popped down to ask if they had one I could use which they'd had and told us to just leave it in the room when we check out. Anything we needed all we had to do was ask and Lynn and Richie would do their best to provide it, they were the perfect hosts. My husband and I would definitely stay there again next time we visit Blackpool.

Local, friendly, comfortable B and B
For the price we paid for a triple room, we couldn't fault the B and B. We stayed for 2 nights and were really looked after and our son with Asperger's felt incredibly comfortable and safe there. The bedding was clean and comfortable, the towels provided were adequate and tea and coffee facilities in the room were great. We paid extra for the cooked breakfasts and they were delicious ( juice, tea/coffee, cereals, tinned fruit and full English with toast all for the price). Richie was flexible also and allowed our son to just have cereals and toast one morning and didn't charge us.

our stay
Just what we wanted . No noise , so a peaceful stay . Plenty of tea , sugar and coffee in the room and it was nice and warm too , just right , not cold at night . The people who run Aysgarth House were very welcoming and were always there for you . Oh and must not forget the shower , has hot or cold as you wanted (not like some we have stay at , including travelodge / premier) . Well worth a stay

Very good 8.0
Quiet hotel close to the promenade
Having stayed here before i kinda knew what to expect. Its not a posh hotel its not somewhere you'll get gourmet breakfast. What it is is a good, affordable, clean hotel very close to the beach/entertainment at Blackpool with some lovely friendly owners. The street is very quiet and theres a local corner shop not far away too.
