Unaware until we arrived that the hotel restaurant was closed , if we knew we wouldn't have booked , the whole place could do with a makeover if im honest. Wont be back. £17 to park the car for the night.

Shabby but certainly not chic!
Really disappointing stay, would not recommend and certainly would not return. Staff were friendly at check in however the room showed excessive wear and tear for the price point. Bathroom was damaged and looked generally unclean. The bottom of the bed was frayed and mattress sloped into the middle. The only positive I can share was for a city centre location it was very quiet. On check out staff were disinterested and didn’t even ask how our stay was. To top it off bar, room service and restaurant was closed for maintenance. Having stayed at the Durham hotel I cannot see how this is the same chain!

Fantastic stay. Staff were excellent and couldn't do enogh for us, particularly Serena who was excellent at breakfast. Food excellent, room excellent. Only thing i could say needs improvement is the on-site parking which is limited and restrictive depending on the size of your vehicle.
