Nice, spacious and clean room with a good view. We stayed during peak season and breakfast was a bit chaotic. Also at the extra staff should be assigned to the front desk on checkout time, we took more than 20 minutes queuing to get it done

Arrived after check in time and the room not ready. Waited 50mins with no offer of a complimentary drink which was surprising. We were given a late checkout because of this but were called to see where we were and when we were checking on our departure date so no one noted on the system we had been given this. Hotel room dated and smelled of smoke but comfortable. Overall there are better hotels we could have stayed at for the same money and I wouldn't choose to go back

Fabulous hotel, great staff, rooms lovely and being on the Kasara floor with the lounge was an added bonus (drinks, snacks, coffee etc for free). This hotel is great if you want to relax in a peaceful environment - it is a little way out of town - about 15 mins in a taxi.

DON NOT STAY HERE WITH A BABY
Aside from the disappointing building and facilities, was their horrendous treatment of young families. We were traveling with our 7 month old baby on our first family holiday. I had called 5 days prior to arrival to confirm our room would have a cot. I was assured it was already on our booking. We arrived to no cot! No problem we thought, we’d call down and they could bring us one. They did but to our horror, it was ripped (a gapping hole in the side big enough for our baby to fall onto the floor), stained with baby poo and vomit and worse still had no mattress. Naively, I told the porter we wouldn’t need the 9 layers of blankets and sheets that were stuffed in the bottom as it is unsafe for a young baby to sleep with loose covers. Only to discover that this was in place of a mattress. The second cot had 3 legs, so it had to be propped up on a box, was wooden with sharp chips and had an old mattress that a bored toddler and picked huge holes in and again was heavily soiled. Complaining to the manager, a ‘brand new cot’ was brought to our room but the porter had no mattresses and instead offered the suffocation risking 9 blankets instead. Unable to stay we had to cancel our holiday. Leaving us thoroughly upset we then had to argue to receive the full refund we were promised. After an email to the director of public relations we finally got an email from the general manager. The generic email came no where close to understanding how much the Anantara had ruined our holiday.

I enjoyed the stay with my family. i was particularly pleased with the welcome and all round friendly attitude of the staff. The food was absolutely brilliant (albeit a little expensive when paying for the dinner buffet) The only downside was that the Mangroves view from Balcony was spoiled by a huge long rusty pipe in the water. We were told it was there to pump the mud. Unfortunately it really did spoil what would have been a beautiful view Further downside was that we could easily hear the tv sound from the next room. Whether this was due to paper thin walls or simply the neighbours blasting their tv loud, i do not know for sure, but it did bother us a bit. Overall i would recommend this hotel
