Good hotel if you're just looking for a place to sleep, since you’ll probably be out exploring most of the time. It’s not a 5-star property, but it does the job for a night or two. Staff were friendly and the location is spot on — about a 10–15 minute walk to the lake and the center of Thun. Parking is available right next to the hotel and it’s affordable, but make sure to have some Swiss Franc coins on you.

The room was very comfortable. Location was right across the street from express bus that took you to train station in 5 minutes. Hotel is a short walk from a lovely wooded park and Lake Thun. Hotel is about a half hour walk from the city center if you walk thru the park and along the lake.

Alpha Thun was a pleasant surprise. Our original booking of a different hotel in Interlaken was cancelled on us by the hotel and we scrambled to find another and this is what we found in Thun. The hotel is right next to the Strandbad bus stop, making it convenient to travel using bus. The room was clean, quaint, spacious enough, and decent looking. The hotel restaurant was great. The food selection was great. Our server, Pao, offered a few great suggestions for Schilthorn and the hiking areas around Murren and Gimmelwald. Since we love hiking, we followed her suggestions.

Receptionist is never at the desk. Worst check in experience ever, was never told by the hotel that there is no receptionist on Sundays after a certain time (I even confirmed my stay via email and nothing was mentioned about self check in) and after a long flight we got to the hotel and the doors of the hotel were locked. We had to go across the street with our luggage to call the hotels emergency number at the neighbouring hotel. Found a dried up contact lens on the floor of the hotel room when we came in, everything was dusty and looked overall dirty. Avoid this hotel at all costs if ur a clean person and want good customer service. It gave more of a hostel vibe rather than hotel.

I paid £600 for 3 days it was an absolute rip off it’s not a 3 star below average filthy and unsafe. Besides except the staff Gonzalo’s staff were terrible rude and un pleasant the cafe lady was nice though. Rooms are poorly conditioned no double beds broken fans with string attached my son couldn’t sleep at all. This must be rate to 1 star hotel

Don't stay here while there is a heat wave

We stayed here while there was a heat wave - no AC in the room, and opening windows created 2 other problems - lots of mosquitoes flying in and a lot of noise - the low point was when someone started to use 2-stroke bush-trimmer next to the hotel 06 AM. Bathroom did not remove any moist and felt more like a Turkish steam sauna. Would have probably been much better experience if the weather had been colder.

Das Zimmer war sauber, Personal war nur zum Teil zuvorkommend. Frühstücksraum: Leider Brösmeli auf den Tischen und klebrige Rückstände an den Seitenkanten eines Tisches. Anmerkung betreffs Frische eines heiklen Produktes wurden zurückgewiesen, bzw. nicht ernst genommen. Gemüsesticks sahen eingetrocknet aus. Beim Nachtessen imRestaurant war das Essen fein, die Wartezeit zum bezahlen dann aber endlos, Personal definitv nicht vom Fach, es gingen Sachen vergessen etc. Ansonsten gute ÖV-Anbindung, Lage ideal.

Oväntat ohjälpsam personal vid icheckningen, Profesisonell men inte vidars intresserad. Rummen har inte air conditioning..... och det var 30 grader varmt, hade inte bokat det om jag visste att det skulle vara utan AC, Bra läge med när till vattnet och kanske 20 min promenad till gamla stan. Publik parkering mitt emot. Trevlig frukostpersonal. Rent generellt kändes det funktionellt men lite slitet och skulle behöva en uppdatering.

Wir waren für eine Nacht für die Thunerseespiele zu Gast. Gute Lage in der Nähe der Seespiele. Für eine Nacht war das kleine Zimmer O.K., super, dass ein Ventilator vorhanden war. Check-In: Wir waren unsicher, ob wir für die Mitarbeiterin an der Reception willkommen waren oder nicht! Ein freundliches "Guten Tag, sind Sie gut angereist" hätte diese Zweifel behoben! Nachtessen: Eine Person hat einen gemischten Salat ohne Sellerie wegen Allergie bestellt und den Salat dann mit Sellerie bekommen. Den Burger mussten wir zurückgeben, da das Fleisch nicht durchgebraten war. Unsere Tischnachbarn bestellten zum Essen je ein Glas Wein. Sie bekamen es trotz Nachfragen erst als sie fertig gegessen haben. Frühstück: Das Frühstück ist einem kleinen Raum der nicht schallgeschützt ist, daher war es ausserordentlich laut. Einen ruhigeren Raum oder sogar draussen auf dem Sitzplatz durfte man nicht beanspruchen. Die Gipfeli waren mindestens von vorgestern. Für den Kaffee musste man zuerst die Mitarbeiterin suchen, eine Nachbestellung kam dann erst als wir mit dem Frühstück zu Ende waren. Warum wird nicht zB eine Franke-Kaffeemachine zum Selbstbedienen angeschafft? Fazit: Verbesserungspotenzial ist vorhanden! Wir können das Hotel nur sehr bedingt weiterempfehlen.
