One customer had to change his room due to an infestation of bugs. The breakfast was barely adequate and was cleared away before the 9.00am stated closing time whilst guests were still arriving. The area has many major building and roadworks near the hotel, and parking was expensive at $25 'hotel rate' per day, and a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Reasonable value
The hotel is on the edge of a somewhat rundown area but it is very conveniently located for the downtown district and within walking distance of streetcar and subway routes. Reception staff are pleasant and helpful. I asked for a walk-in shower which was clean and accessible. The room was on the lowest floor and the lift was arthritic and capricious! Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The air conditioning was elderly and a bit noisy. Housekeeping staff were efficient. Decor looking a bit dated and tired, but not unpleasantly so. Complementary buffet breakfast was plentiful and adequate although the scrambled eggs were unappetising. The breakfast room was cramped. (There is an excellent diner on Carlton Street which does all day breakfast) The coin operated laundry was a boon - a supply of washing powder in individual portions would be a useful addition. There is a convenience store opposite but it only sells family sized detergent packs. A pleasant hotel for a few nights. I would consider using it again.

Value for money
The facilities offered in the room are good. The free breakfast was good, HOWEVER there is a table with 8 chairs and two bar stools only so don't expect to be seated for breakfast. You can use a tray to take breakfast to your room. There is a breakfast bar on two walls unfortunately only two bar stools, hotel could add another six if they wished to do so. It looks as if they have used one of the bedrooms to provide the breakfast service. All but one member of staff was helpful, unfortunately on our arrival he was abrupt and rude, this was reported to one of the other staff who said they would inform the owner. Hebron was especially helpful and helped make our stay.

Did the job.
Prompt front desk service. Rooms were a little small. Closet was approx. 1 foot wide and bathroom could have been swept prior to our arrival. Door also didn't open all the way as it got caught on the carpet. Very small breakfast area.
