Good Stay
very good hotel, really friendly staff, couple of small niggles about the stay but for the price and service offered for a business trip was ideal and good location for what I wanted also.

Great hotel with excellent service
If you want modern, pristine, clinical with no character this is not the hotel for you. So there may be the odd bit of peeling paint but I disagree with any comment that it is tired and needs refurbishment. This is an old building full of character with beautiful decor to match. It is warm, comfortable with a lovely atmosphere, the breakfast is extensive and very good but the staff are exceptional! Nothing is too much trouble, I needed a ground floor room with walk in shower (not bath) for my elderly mother who is in her nineties and has some mobility issues (there are no lifts), a telephone call assured me they could meet our needs and on arrival everything was as promised with several staff offers of assistance. In addition, for medical reasons, my daughter needed vegan, dairy and gluten free options which we did not identify to the hotel prior to arrival, however this was no problem and fully accommodated. The staff were friendly, attentive, caring and provided excellent service - these are all the things which make a stay a good experience. Ideally located for access to the city centre and main attractions in the area, we would definitely stay here again.
