Quaint, comfortable and nice stay with Planes! :)
Interesting hotel with lots of character. Comfortable beds, lovely fresh beddings & clean rooms. Bathroom pretty small and might not be ideal for couples but not really an issue if staying solo. A bit noisey from the planes but they do stop from around 10pm-7.30am so again not much of an issue and might even be a treat for plane spotter. Great location for the excel and about 5 mins from the DLR (trip time about 20-30 mins to central London), tip exit the DLR on the left side and follow the main road to the hotel. (rather than walking towards/through the excel) You can also walk to the airport in about 15 mins! The hotel is on top of a large pub, good drinks but food selection is quite limited; aside from burger and chips there isn't much else which looks that appealing. Breakfast choices are better and well-priced. (in the same bar area) The entrance to the hotel is via the pub which closed around 11pm, but there is side door which you can use 24/7 - ask for the code and where it is! This is also slightly quicker than walking thru the pub esp for the DLR. Check out is stated as 10am, but not sure how strict they are on this, I left at 10.15am with nothing said but perhaps they would extend to a more sensible 11am if you ask. I would stay here again as it's so quaint, comfortable and the DLR is easily accessible.

A lovely Homely Place
This hotel is within walking distance of London City Airport in modernised Docklands area of London. The hotel is lovely and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff particularly the receptionist ( didn't get her name but a very pleasant Lithuanian woman) were very helpful, efficient, and accommodating. The hotel is nicely laid out with interesting artwork throughout. There is a good selection of food. The bar was a friendly place and we'll occupied in the evening. The room itself although a double was very small but was very comfortable, very clean and air conditioned.. Bed was soft. Shower was a good vigorous power shower. Overall I would class the hotel as nice and homely and would recommend it Close by you can take a lovely walk by the waterfront with a vista of the towering financial centre in the distance. A bridge facilitates the taking of some good pictures. A docklands Light Rail station connecting the rest of London is about a three minute walk away

Worth a stay
Used the hotel in preparation for PRL100 and very conveniently located to Excel for registration. Bar area very good, good selection of food and if any sporting event is on TV then this is the place to be. Large outside patio area available too. Free parking available although remember to register at reception. Room i had, no10, was small but more than adequate for what was needed. Only gripe was the general noise of the guests throughout the evening/overnight, doors slamming, noisy stairs, talking etc. I know i can't really blame the hotel but ensuring doors had a better closing mechanism would be helpful especially as having an early start in the morning.

A good and convenient hotel
Our short stay here worked really well meeting with family at the O2 and visiting an exhibition at Olympia. It was a holiday weekend. We liked the easy access and parking and location for Prince Regent DLR which is an easy 10 minutes to the platform but lots of stairs to get up there ( though think there maybe a lift part of way). We had a superior room and can recommend its condition and comfort with a large double bed. Impressed with decent number of electrical sockets and usb connection for a laptop. We ate here and were happy with the quality of the food. The pub downstairs, with large lounge and TVs is great but there isn’t anything much else within easy walking distance and the immediate area is a little bleak. From our room we can see the DLR and planes going past very close but the double glazing keeps the room very quiet and we slept very well. I would agree with others that the stairs are steep for those with big bags and you might wish to request a lower floor. We would be happy to come back here.

This One is Great
Beautiful hotel, but even were the accommodations and the staff. The stay should have cost more, that's how fantastic this hotel is for travelers. So enjoyable, we longed to get back to the hotel instead of viewing the city more. A couple of tips: a/c control in night stand, no elevator so if you need first floors, let them know in advance, room key by the door in your room controls the power/lights to your room (European newbies).
