The bedroom was clean and had everything I needed but was the smallest double room I have ever stayed in. Staff nice and helpful and breakfast very good. Hotel location also good. Traffic noise very noticeable in the morning but may in part be due to a construction site about 1/4 mile along the road.

Weekend stay
I have eaten here before and loved food beer and ambience. Having stayed in every other hotel more or less within 10 miles I wanted to stay here and want disappointed. Will stay again

This pub has long been a favourite for the quality of the food. The existence of accommodation too may not be generally known - at least it wasn't to this writer. A fairly typical "pub room". A bit small but with all the most necessary things - comfortable bed, workable shower, tea maker, working TV and just enough storage space for an overnight stay. You can have a room overlooking the river which is nice and not too noisy apart from a short spell early in the morning when the rush hour commuters sound like they enjoy racing each other. If there are rooms at the back, they may be more quiet and perhaps have a view towards the castle. The evening meal was as good as ever. Jambalaya, a kind of fish and meat stew, with beef empanadas to start, (small fried, spicy, pasties) are not the usual fare to be expected in Lancaster pubs. There was a happy anticipation of the breakfast. It proved to be justified. It will indeed set one up for the day. The short walk into the town centre was very welcome afterwards. Friendly, cosy and recommended.

Location is good. On the quay, about 5 mins to the start of the town by foot. Parking available, get a pass from the bar £20 deposit, refunded on checkout. Lovely pub, welcoming staff. Very good breakfast, all freshly made. Didn't eat lunch or dinner there but it all looked nice. Rooms are small but the bathroom was a good size with massive, pure white towels. Tea and coffee in the room, bottled watwr but no fridge. We would return.

I was made very welcome from the second I stepped through the door. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, bringing food to my room to help me out. I will certainly return!

I really enjoyed the Wagon & Horses. My room was perfect for what I needed it for, which was somewhere to get changed for a wedding and somewhere to sleep after a day of celebrating. The shower was really good, the place was very clean, and staff were helpful. Plus, the breakfast was tasty.
