The location was very convenient, walking distance to my office and some tourist attractions. The layout of the apartment was also good but that was all I liked. The apartment was unacceptably dirty. The toilets were dark and looked like they were never cleaned, the floors were not mopped and were dusty, I found hairs from previous visitors. I traveled for work but with my 1 year old who is crawling everywhere. Within 30 min his clothes were dirty. There was no AC and the place was pretty hot inside, the windows could not open properly so we were pretty hot inside, although it was 18C outside. I had requested a crib and I never got it. I received a call at 10.30pm by someone who works for this company who offered me a crib for additional fee. It was way past my child's bedtime! They never brought the crib. I called to complain about the condition of the apartment and was told that "they will see what they can do." They sent someone to clean but the toilets were still extremely gross! When we were checking out, i.e. leaving the apartment, we ran into a cleaning lady who was extremely rude, she saw me leaving with my child in hands and was angry we were leaving 10min late after checkout time, which is 11am. I would not go back to this place and do not recommend it to anyone who cares about hygiene. Also, there were no toiletries but they charge the price of a 4 star hotel.

House of Noise and Trash
To start with there is no such place as Union Nike Apartments. The actual apartment building is called “Westminster”. The location is not the address that was advertised on, which was actually the property management office. Wish I’d known this before the taxi dropped us off with our 70 lbs of baggage! But never mind that - the property was just a 10 min walk away, but after a 10-hour flight, I got an Uber instead. On to the apartment itself - it is not what they show on the photo. Not even close. Not even the same building as shown in the photos on But the area in Southwark is great and the apartment is clean and modern so we try to make the best of it. And then things got funky. Literally. By day 2, the stench of garbage was so awful that I could barely breathe. I took refuge by sleeping on the living room couch. But the noise from the street below was so loud - I mean I could hear people talking, the traffic light warnings, the buses, the cars, I got no sleep whatsoever. Maybe it would have been less noisy if I’d closed the windows, but it was the hottest day in history in London and the apartment had no fans, no AC, it was smoking hot. So back to the stench. Turns out there were trash bins sitting directly behind the bedroom windows. It was intolerable. So I contacted to complain and I went to the property management office to demand a relocation. To their credit they moved us to a lovely 2-bdrm in Shoreditch.

Nice apartment, not nice staff at check-in
I traveled with four girlfriends, all in the early twenties. We came very late in the evening due to a delayed flight. The check-in office was luckily open, but the receptionist was very slow and didn't seem to care that there very people waiting in line. We had to wait about 25 minutes extra before we could check in, just because the receptionist worked so slowly. When it finally was our turn, he was not very nice to us. The hotel had a very strict noise-policy which he made sure that we knew about, but not in a very nice manner. He almost accused us of planning to party in the apartment and talked a lot about fees and calling the police and kicking us out if we made much noise, which was quite uncomfortable. When we left the check-in area and got to the apartment we were almost frightened to even talk to each other. Not a nice experience. The apartment itself was nice and spacious, though! Nice bedrooms and kitchen, two ok bathrooms, and a nice sofa area. The area is very quiet, and there is a super market just across the street. The tube is just a short walk away, so is cafes and Borough market. All in all, we enjoyed the stay and the apartment was nice, but the experience at the reception really dampened our spirits and ruined the impression of the hotel for us. I would recommend this apartment if you are a family traveling together, but not for friends - unless you want to be shamed as troublemakers upon arrival.

The actual apartment that we got was not the apartment that showed up on the map on the listing. It was another 13-15mins walking away. Had we known this, we would of not booked it BC we wanted to be close (as in 3-5 mins walk) to the train station and borough market. There wasn’t hot water the entire time (3 nights) we were there. We have called and both time they did send someone but seems like they can only get it to luke warm temperature... a bit cold for us to shower in. I think they just need a new wAter heater. The apartment also faces the morning sun so it gets extremely hot in the apartment. There are fans but it’s still pretty hot. Sorry no AC in this unit. We were uncomfortable with how hot it was and it was about 74-75 degrees outside.

While this apartment is fine and quite spacious, there were a number of issues. First, it is indicated as being close to London Bridge. Thats where their office is. The apartment is about a kilometer southwest of there - not nearly as handy and not worth the price markup. It also makes checking in very difficult. It looks like these older premises were renovated inside ~ 10 yrs ago, but it was cheaply done and already deteriorating (rust, trim peeling etc). If you need to contact them ahead of time, good luck, nobody answers the phone. I was told the owners are a conglomerate in the Czech Republic. We were quoted a daily rate on, and got it for the first day only. Forget getting any form of reimbursement from either. So be careful if booking this place.
