Real bargain.
We stayed for 4 nights in August and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating. It's not the Ritz but neither is the price. The breakfast was basic but adequate, everyone could eat and this set us up for the day. The subway was less than a five minute walk away so very convenient and we were in Manhatten in no time at all! The rooms were very clean and well presented and the shower was great! I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a bargain. The area looks a bit tired but felt totally safe at all times of the day. The shop on the corner was great for sandwiches fir a picnic in Central Park and very good value. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Great hotel; lovely staff.
A great little hotel, not too far from Manhattan (3 subway stops) but a welcome escape from the 24-hr noise and lights! We arrived (my 21-yr old daughter and me) mid-afternoon to be greeted by Paul, who was wonderfully welcoming, helpful and clearly passionate about NYC. The room was as expected: compact, modern, clean, with the added bonus of a balcony with city views which were stunning. Air con worked brilliantly - by the end of our stay we turned it off! Having a fridge was excellent, as was the safe (completely free to use). The neighbourhood at first glance looks slightly worse for wear, but we visited the deli on the corner a number of times and were met with courtesy and smiles (we felt like locals after five days). A good tip is to stock up here with water and snacks - the fridge in the hotel room was great for keeping drinks. Breakfast was great - complimentary cereals/pastries/toast/drinks, though the water is never really hot enough. Plastic cutlery is mildly irritating but not enough to make a fuss about. Essentially, this is an added bonus to the hotel and a good way to start your long days in the city. Travel tip: If you take the subway from JFK, you need the Airtrain to Jamaica Station, then the E train to Queens Plaza. The hotel is a little walk from here, but that's the best way to get there. Just remember to either print a map or have GPS ready when you emerge from the station - we got lost at first!

Good hotel for a short stay
Hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms however were very small and there was little space for storage. Our stay included breakfast which was adequate but please abandon the polystyrene dishes and plastic cutlery and invest in real dishes!

A Gem in Queens
Was in town for a wedding and a getaway weekend. This hotel was great. Small but comfortable with a very hospitable staff. Breakfast wasn't great with just the basics. Good value for the location.
