Unimpress 1st visit and probably last.
Whilst Staff friendly. There were issues around the technical side and hygiene. Room WiFi non existent in the evenings only available for short bursts in the mornings. No Handset in the room making impossible to contact reception or anyone else should the need arise Sky TV reception poor and kept breaking up as if in a storm, not able to watch programs. Bathroom so small everything was less that one foot step away. As room service was only every other day or 3rd day makes room over priced as paying for a service not provided. Damp/wet towels unable to dry as no drying facility such as a radiator. Bathroom raised level to floor so kept miss-stepping in and out. Not tea/coffee making facilities provided (own fault for not checking when booking). So all in all for a basic nondescript room, not impressed and feel grossly over priced. Have stayed in better for less.

I would stay here again
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and inside the hotel I felt safe due to the locked doors. The room was a lot smaller than I'd anticipated but the bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep. I didn't eat in Platform 5 whilst at the hotel so cannot comment and the only issue I had was the amount of drunks and homeless people directly outside of the hotel, which made me a bit cautious about going out, otherwise it was a pleasant hotel, good value for money and easy access to Waverley station for only £2.40 rail fare.

Ideal location for sleeping!
This is a lovely hotel for a base and the staff are excellent. Onsite parking is a huge bonus in this part of town! The rooms are small though and no tea or coffee making facilities. This is a good place to base yourselves but couldn't spend an extended period relaxing in the room just due to space. This is definitely a sleeping only hotel. Location is perfect for Edinburgh though!

City break
Had a very pleasant stay at the Haymarket Hub, all facilities were very good for a budget price. Only down side was that the room did feel a bit crammed as it was only slightly wider than the length of the bed meaning you had to climb over the bed to get into the far side . Overall though would recommend for a place to stay close to city centre at a reasonable price with a great suite of services

lovely polite staff. clean. would have liked some kind of storage for clothes. Thought breakfast should have been included in price and not an additional charge. More pillows would have been good . One not enough. Tea and coffee facilities in room would have been good instead of paying another additional charge.
