Convenient, clean and polite service
Great hotel in the centre of old Dubai to explore all the cultural heritage and souks. If you want to explore further afield, the Al-Ras metro station is also 5 minutes away. The room that we got was huge if a little bit dated but we were very well looked after by Alena and Adeel. The only minor gripe was the lack of lighting (but I guess low lighting is the norm in hot countries) and lack of hanging hooks e.g. towel hangers etc. Would definitely recommend it.

Comfort and heritage in Dubai
We did a couple of nights stopover in Dubai to break a long journey and are so pleased that we chose this hotel in the Deira area.It is near the creek and has the interest of being next door to and a similar style of building to Al Ahmadiya School and Heritage House (both free museums) The souqs are all round, not just the touristy ones but the wholesale trading stores which supply the trading dhows docked nearby. It is a 2 minute walk to the metro which can take you in air conditioned comfort to the various Malls and beaches. Our room was air conditioned, the bed enormous, the bathroom adequate, bottled water and an interesting nourishing breakfast and airport pickup were complimentary. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

An authentic and super friendly experience
I chose this room for the ambience and the location to the historic district. It is walking distance from the gold souk, spice souk, arabian perfume souk, and close to the abra boat rides that cross the Dubai Creek to get to the fabric stores and the local Museum (a must see!). The hotel staff went beyond their way to make our one night stay (we were a family of 4 with 2 kids) comfortable. We came in early and were able to store the carry on luggage, were offered early check-in options by noon, received filtered water to take to our scheduled tour of the city, and were provided with local tips to navigate the city! We were also able to choose out room from two rooms that met our reservation criteria. During checkout, we needed an early checkout so we would have missed our breakfast, but the staff was very accommodating and prepared our included breakfast and sent it to our room by 5:30 AM before his shift ended. This permitted us to leave on time to catch our flight with a full stomach! :) I am so grateful for this additional service. The room was unique: decorated with lanterns and paintings. Also, the bed was very large. All furniture had an antique look which helped us gain a unique experience. The only slight discomfort was the smell in the general area and the heat in the lobby area. I wish they had kept the lobby cooler. Again when it's 45 degrees Celcius outside, it's difficult to keep a large area cool.

Quant, unique, old Dubai, parking across the river
It's not easy to find because it is in a courtyard in the middle of a group of buildings. Don't expect to park near the location. You can drop off your luggage. There is a small temporary pay parking lot on the same block, but it charges 20 Dirhams per hour. It is good to drop off and check in, but not much else. If you are looking for the flavor of old Dubai, this is it. The place was an old villa or palace and has tons of charm. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Next to the Gold and Spice Souqs. Plenty of shopping options. Much better on this side of the river than on the other side where vendors are much too aggressive. You can valet park your car across the river at the Arabian Hotel and it is included with your stay. Then take the one dirham boat ride across to the other side. A short walk from the river landing to the hotel. If you want to get away from the high tech bustle of Dubai, this is a great location. There are heritage sites and a fort across the river, so activities within walking distance. Overall a good value and enjoyable stay.
