Cosy & comfy
The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, even changing the bed linen just because they spotted some black fluff on the white duvet cover (which probably came from the black throw). The room was cosy, and the shower wasn't as bad as other reviews here led us to expect. We were baffled as to why they couldn't take pre-orders for breakfasts, though quickly grasped why past guests may have said they'd want breakfast then changed their mind the following morning (which ultimately led to the owners deciding to stop being a B&B) — meals from the restaurant were delicious and huge, so we didn't need breakfast the following day! On those days when we did want breakfast, though, a sizeable, tasty and cost-effective option could be found at the local Morissons, less than 5min drive away. WiFi was non-existent, but we got good signal to our EE 4G. All in all, a cosy & comfy stay!

Staff were attentive and helpful.
The staff are lovely and very helpful, they replenished the room daily with tea/coffee etc.. The only problem was there was little hot water and we had to use the kettle. Room was clean but not perfect. Overall for a couple of nights it was fine for us on a short stay.

Overall an excellent stay in a very friendly professionally run traditional Inn, we were initially disappointed to find they didn't serve breakfast anymore due to lack of demand even though website description and signs said breakfast available, this breakfast disappointment grew when we did experience the food as it was amazing and we wondered about how good that missed breakfast would have been!. Over the weekend we had two evening meals and Sunday lunch and all were fantastic the quality of the food was outstanding, expertly cooked and delivered hot to our table, a simple thing that lots of other establishments get wrong, being able to deliver a selection of dishes to a table all at the right temperature, hot! They got it just right. The Chefs special belly pork was immense and traditional Sunday lunch with everything you would want and expect. A good selection of ales. Staff were friendly, professional and attentive. The place obviously has a good reputation as it was packed full at meal times. The room although basic was clean and nicely dressed and decorated. Would definitely stay again

Comfortable but a little disappointed
A quiet private room with its own front door. Comfortable bed. Shower could have been cleaner, hairs from previous guest on tiles. Would have been better value at £65 rather than £75 (rooom only)

The stay was mainly for business and the room was just a base to travel from.
