Awful
We had a terrible experience and are requesting a full refund of the inflated rate we paid. Upon returning at approximately 9:30 after being out for the evening we found our room card keys were not working. After the front desk clerk gave us new keys, three separate times, she finally came up and tried herself, to determine that the battery on the door lock was dead. It took two maintenance men nearly 2 hours to finally open our room by fishing under it with a long wire hook device. One maintenance man left in the middle of their efforts, leaving the other to struggle on his own. When he finally got the door open at midnight, we were told the head maintenance worker was coming in from Harrisburg, 45 minutes away, and he would change the battery. This would have probably enabled us to finally go to bed some time after 1:00 a.m., assuming he actually arrived in 45 minutes and knew how to quickly change a battery. Therefore, we decided to leave and requested the clerk for a full refund. She advised because we had prepaid thru Expedia, we the request would need to be processed by her supervisor thru Expedia. I am completely dissatisfied and am requesting a full refund of the inflated rate. This experience caused me to arrive home at 2:30 a.m. and cut short my visit with my daughter for Family Weekend by a full day.

I do not recommend staying here
I would never stay here again. When we got to the hotel to check in we went to our room, and there were towels on the floor. Also, the bed was not made so we went to the front desk and asked if our room could be cleaned or if we could have a new room. They offered us a room at the Eisenhower which is their other hotel that they own. When we got to our new room the lamp wouldn’t work, and the bottom of the bath tub was covered in black mold. Also, the drain of the tub/shower was clogged with mold. We went back and said that we wanted our other room cleaned because we did not think the rooms at the Eisenhower were worth the $200 we paid. They finally cleaned the room we were originally supposed to have, and after an hour and a half of waiting at 11pm, we got to go to our room. When we got into our room for a second time I noticed there was a used bar of soap in the shower. Also, we left one of our personal belongings in the room, and I didn’t realize until we were home. Victor told us he would let us know how much it would cost to mail to us, but we never heard back from him. My husband has called back twice and victor has not been there. They keep telling my husband they are unsure whether or not our belonging has been mailed.

Pros - Our room was large and clean. It had all of the items you could need (coffee pot, microwave, mini frig). The hotel was in a good location with easy access to the highway and Gettysburg attractions. Negatives - Everything in the hotel has "Eisenhower Inn" printed on it. The name "Aspire" only appears on the road sign and the side of the building. When I asked the clerk if this was the right hotel, she snapped asking for my name with no explanation. Any other time I spoke to her, she acted like I was bothering her greatly. Trash (garbage bags and empty liquor bottles) was left in the stairwells and side doorways. The side door was kept open by a piece of wood, even overnight. The pool, lounge and store were in a separate building, attached by a moldy, run-down tunnel. The hallway carpets in this building were stained and smelled wet. The deli/store was VERY expensive for very limited products. Example: 2 AA batteries in a package meant for 4 batteries will cost you $7.99. **In conclusion, this place was fine for 1 quick overnight, but not for anyone needing to use any of their amenities.

DO NOT STAY HERE
I’m so Disappointed with our overnight trip to Gettysburg all because of this hotel. We couldn’t even stay, we were there all of 5 hours....first, they couldn’t find our reservation. We waited over an hour for a “manager” who never came- the man at the front desk was nice enough to get us into a room. (Meanwhile another couple comes down to complain their room wasn’t even cleaned.)Then we get to the room and it’s dirty- pillows and sheets with stains- disgusting, and the bathroom floor was dirty. It looked like they didn’t even change the towels. So we go to the pool- a disgrace...see picture below for how it is maintained. The concrete around it was even filthy- against my better judgement I let my daughter in and it was just as filthy inside. The water didn’t even smell like chlorine who knows when it was cleaned last. The “hot tub” was empty of water and looked like it had been that way for decades. The beds were so uncomfortable and lumpy, the one pillow I had that was clean was like a rock, oh and we heard everything from the room next door. We left at 9:00pm- didn’t even make it overnight. I have no idea where these other people stayed, I chose this hotel because of the great reviews....DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE- go somewhere else! The only positive was how close it was to town, only a 10 minute drive.

We were thrilled with our room. It was huge! Air-conditioning worked great! Breakfast buffet was awesome. We will definitely go there again as it was right near the re-enactment field. We were there for Civil War reenactment. At the end of the first day we were so hot and sweaty. We couldn’t wait to get in the pool. The pool area left a bit to be desired. It was not air-conditioned and it looked neglected. The water temperature must’ve been 100°. And I’m not exaggerating. It was not refreshing at all. When I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout, she commented that she will have the maintenance man turn the temperature down. So it was a heated pool. And they had the heat on. The maid service did a good job, but they left our room door unlatched two days in a row. It needed to be pulled shut in order for it to lock and they did not pull it all the way shut. Anyone could’ve entered our room. One other thing that was unnerving, while we were in the lobby one day a man went up to the front desk and asked for a spare key to his room. They handed it to him without asking his name or for any ID. Maybe they recognized him, but if they didn’t, this is a security issue. Like I said, we will return. The positives far outweighed the negatives (except the hot pool!), but these issues should be addressed.
