Weekend in Chester
We went to Chester for our wedding anniversary, the Townhouse didn't disappoint, room was clean, bed was big and everything worked! The bar and restaurant were also excellent. At dinner the the staff had dressed our table wonderfully including a card. The staff couldn't do enough, would happily stay again and recommend to anyone else.

Good stay
Good location, very clean, no major issues. Would recommend. Could have done with air con as it was quite hot/humid during our stay. One for next years budget!

Character hotel near the city centre.
Helpful and friendly reception staff. Quiet, although on a main street. Good buffet breakfast and good place for dinner. Large bedroom with very comfortable bed. Walking distance to historic city centre and to the city walls and river.

Fabulous restaurant and well placed hotel
The hotel is lovely but the rooms need to be renovated, apparently this is in hand but it had not yet reached our room. It was adequate comfortable but very shabby. Lighting non existent, the main light did not work, so only had 2 small lamps, and WiFi unavailable. However the staff were fantastic. Every single one of them, they could not have been more pleasant and helpful and obviously very happy in their work, so that is a credit to them and their employers. The best thing though was the restaurant the food was fabulous and I do mean fabulous. Having so enjoyed our meal on the first night we booked again for the second, unaware that the chef would be absent, he was doing a radio programme. The meal was superb, the chef returned and asked about our meal explaining that his sous chef had prepared it, his name I believe was Sebastian, well all I can say is you certainly can cook Sebastian, thank you. Overall a great experience, the hotel is ideally placed for a visit to Chester, or Chester racecourse, both of which are well worth a visit, and so is this hotel.
