Nice, clean place close to checkpoint Charlie
The hotel is in a quiet part of town with not many bars or places to eat in the immediate vicinity but if you walk around 10-15 mins you will find the U-Bahn (u-Koschstabe/checkpoint Charlie). This connects very easily to wherever you need to go. In the local area, you will find a Lidl about 2 mins from the hotel. Very handy to stock up on food and beers for your hotel fridge. Very cheap prices as to be expected. In walking distance, Checkpoint Charlie is around 10 mins walk. Tons of museums and art galleries too which makes for an interesting stay. Try the informal pizza place on the corner called La Ginos. Around €7 for a large pizza. Beer is cheap in Berlin. Cheaper than cola in shops. That suited us. Everyone walks around and drinks beers. Food in restaurants is resasonable too. In the local area, it is around 15 mins walk to lovely Turkish food. Schawarmatashe is a chicken kebab which was only €3 and very reasonable and delicious. We paid €7 a day for a day ticket on the u-bahn and you can travel anywhere so well worth it. The public transport here is very reliable and efficient. Would definitely return to Berlin and stay in Kreuzberg again - would I choose this hotel? Well, it’s clean and cheap but slightly out of the way or bars and restaurants so possibly not but if we got a good deal then we wouldn’t rule it out. It’s close if you want to just do the touristy things and don’t mind a couple of changes on the underground to a more busier district.

Very good 8.0
Great location/service, drawbacks comfort-wise.
Travel wise this is very well connected - easy to get everywhere and not too bad for airport transfers, ubers took about two mins or less every time we ordered! Room was big enough to easily sleep 3-4 people, with enough storage. Location was very good. Room also seemed clean and cleaners were in every day. Wifi good on phones, fast connection. Great service from all staff. Issues were: The bedding on the main bed was so uncomftable that we struggled to sleep -- the pillows ended up being discarded and we had to use the main couch cushions to sleep as our necks were in so much pain! They also give you two small duvets/blankets as opposed to one large one -- didn't seem like it would be an issue but the two covers are so small that they barely cover you. This wouldn't have been an issue with a normal sized double duvet. The main issue however is that all 3 of us, every night during our 4 night stay, woke up with very sore throats, stuffed noses and chesty coughs, which we put down to the ventilation in the hotel, as strange as it sounds. Lots of random temp changes we couldn't control too, and allergy tablets made no difference. Even with the cold weather we had to open the windows to the balcony in an attempt to get some fresh air in the room. For price, can't complain but if you struggle with your chest or are looking for max comfort, may not be for you.

Nice location, though parking an issue
We stayed here for 4 nights in the Autumn break 2019. Lucky with terrific weather the first 2 days so we could use the nice balcony. I would definitely recommend high floor as the lower floors could be disturbed a bit by other people/traffic/the local kindergarten etc. The location is 10/10 as it is within walking distance of the majority of tourist attractions (from 2 minutes to 30 minutes walk - depending on your physical ability of course). For the teenagers, Berlin Mall with its 300 stores is just a 8 minutes walk/ all the shops at Alexander Platz just a 15-20 minutes walk. The Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, Tiergarten, TV Tower, Bundestag, Brandenburger Tor etc. you can easily access by foot from this hotel. The apartment (premium) wall well equipped, with OK wifi, and OK space for 4 people. I used the rowing machine in the cellar twice, but I agree with one of the other reviewers that aircon is missing at the "gym". No parking at the hotel and a bit difficult to unpack and pack your car when you arrive and have to walk a bit with your stuff. We found a new and cheap (EUR 10 per 24H) parking garage 2 km from the hotel where we put the car during our stay. If we return to Berlin (and we very well might), we would definitely consider this hotel again and ask for a high floor premium apartment.

Poor 2.0
Misleading listing, TERRIBLE stay
Lists itself as a non smoking hotel. However 1) It DOES NOT have air conditioning, which means windows have to be opened for here to be ventilation - there was zero ventilation with windows closed. 2) ASHTRAYS are placed on tables in balconies - highly convenient and encouraging for smokers to just sit there all day to smoke. Which was what happened to us. We were surrounded by neighbours that smoked through the night on the balcony! We chose that hotel as it was “non- smoking” as we were very sensitive to cigarette smoke. However, my husband and I had to wake up multiple times to open and close the windows - hoping that the smoking would somehow stop after a certain time. But it did not. We moved out the next day. We wrote to the manager, who was mildly sympathetic (if at all), and was refused a refund. He also insisted that listing was accurate, which I still don’t see how till now. Offered me a free night- back at that terrible hotel. I wonder if anyone would have taken that up. STAY AWAY, DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE GOOD RATINGS AND ALL. IT IS NOT WORTH GOING THROUGH THE PAIN. And honestly, it is not that great. There are more convenient hotels, cleaner, more comfortable bed and pillows and truly smoke free. Albeit 20-30 euros more. I’ll choose to pay that anytime.

Not good in anyway....
The pictures they got from the room are nice but the reality is totally different ... The sofa had old stains on it, and i don’t want to know when they have last cleaned behind the sofa. The sofa is a sofa and a bed for the third or 4 people, who would like to sleep in a dirty bed?! The floor wasn’t cleaned well and They didn’t clean the room every day. Some days the bed was made and some days it wasn’t.....One day we did not have toilet paper and so on... the bathroom doors flor knob was broken, the shower pole vas broken. The water heater in the kitchen was broken, so you had to poor the water true the nose of the heather, and like many other people already complained about is that the beds are hard and the pillows are toooo fluffy.
