Disappointed with the room. En-suite but had no door. Only a curtain. Had steps leading from bedroom to bathroom. Not good if you go to the toilet in the night. No handrail for getting into and out of the bath. Shower did not work properly. Food was good.and so was the entertainment with Lee Vasey. Could be a lovely place to stay but need to deal with health and safety issues.

Great quiet location & friendly staff.
Good service by friendly staff. The place is in a lovely, quiet & scenic location - away from the bustle of town centres like close by Wroxham. Though it is close enough to enable you to visit the Broads, with Wroxham, Horning, etc being v.close by. Breakfast was good, & cups of tea were decent and refreshing. Room was OK & bed comfortable, very reasonable for the rate really.

Poor 2.0
Never again
Over priced, dated, under staffed. Difficult to find entrance if coming from Woodbastwick. Good parking, but walk way to door (some distance) could do with a good sweep. One young lad who was multi tasking and doing his best, but had to wait 10 mins to book in. He was polite and cheerful and did carry my case up the step curving stairs. Bulbs missing in lights through out the hotel and our room chandelier was missing 3 out of 5 lights. Light bulb in bathroom had no cover (possibly illegal). On visit to en - suite, which stunk, the loo was filled with poo and flies and there was a major problem with the flush! Yuk. The bathroom was filled with flies and cobwebs. The bedroom and bathroom I would have said had been recently decorated, but rather 'tacky'. Broken pull on blind, semi repaired. Need to use glasses to fill up kettle with water. 3 tea bags provided. Noise after midnight from other guests. No one to meet us at breakfast or to know what the system was, so just found a table. Slow service, over 15 mins for table next to us and one man had waited at the bar even longer and then never had a table laid up for him and sent to the corner of the room. Waitress struggled with order, despite writing pad and got both our and our adjacent table wrong on several attempts. No one there to say 'Goodbye', so just left our keys on the bar. Luckily for them I had paid up front. Will not be a returning customer. No night staff on cover!

I needed a late booking after having to check out of a very nasty Hotel and was lucky to find the lodge had a spare room. From the moment I arrived Gail made me feel very welcome and did everything to ensure that I was looked after.

Pleasant stay whilst working away
Comfortable room with en-suite. The pub was very quiet but it was a Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Great bar meals and a good selection of beers. Breakfast was very good too and all staff were extremely friendly. I’d definitely stay here again.

I stayed for here one night for business. The staff were friendly, the double room was more than adequate and the bed was the most comfortable i have ever stayed in at a hotel!! The breakfast was spot on and the surrounding area is lovely and peaceful, perfect for a stress free night away. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend!
