Good 6.0
Overpriced and Noisy
The room was large with a bay window which was nice, but incredibly noisy. Even though there appears to be 2 layers to the window, they didn't seem to be doing anything for the soundproofing. Could hear music from other venues (possibly the pub next door) clearly (as in word for word) in our room, and also traffic noise, sirens etc. You do expect noise in a city centre, but it was like the windows were open. The bathroom was a joke, it was so tiny! You had to squeeze between the sink and the shower cubicle to get to the toilet and every time I sat down on the toilet, I banged my knees on the towel shelf under the sink, and I'm only 172cm! If a tall person was in this room, I don't think they would be able to use the toilet, which is ridiculous. The breakfast was distinctly average, all food tepid not hot, even the coffee wasn't hot. There was no skimmed milk available, no mushrooms, no square sausage or potato scones either which I would expect in Scotland. There was also no branded cereals, just 3 types in large bowls, which isn't good if you want to be aware of exactly what and how much you are eating. No atmosphere whatsoever in the bar area, and only a handful of seats and 1 TV, most people ended up sat in the breakfast room with their drinks where there was no music or TV. They also don't have any draught products only bottles and they are very overpriced. Definitely not worth the £294 we paid for a 2 night stay!
