One 'nighter'.
My wife and I were attending a cousin's 70th. birthday in Carlton and were recommended The Dixie Arms Hotel. Our stay was for one night b&b and whilst the service was very good the overall feeling was that the room was in need of decorating and upgrading. Our room, no.1, fronted the main street and was noisy until the early hours of the morning. The bed was very low and the shower had a corroded base. We had to decide the night before our choice of breakfast, which wasn't satisfactory, but no other choice. As a one night 'stop off' it was acceptable, but not for a longer period. Would I recommend the hotel, possibly, with reservations as explained.

Nice homely stay
Had a great stay here, the staff were really friendly and helpful, ate in the restaurant both nights, if you like authentic Italian food the pizza is great. Only slight drawback was lack of heating in the room just on an evening but not in the morning (forgot to mention this while I was there). Summing up, really good reception on arrival, staff really nice and helpful, food really good and room (which had been recently modernised) clean and comfortable, will definitely stay again when in the area.

Lovely hotel lovely staff couldn't do enough for you Nice big room Great breakfast included Only thing rooms need updating Old scratched furniture Old carpets Heating is on a timer do comes on in evening so was quite cold in room until then. WiFi is rubbish they are trying to sort it out though. I couldn't get onto Internet anywhere in hotel. But would still recommend it. X

Enjoyed my first visit to the Dixie Arms Hotel.
On entering the Hotel I received a warm welcome from the proprietor who checked me in, informed me about the breakfast arrangements and showed me to my allocated room. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and well presented with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bedroom was nice and warm which was welcomed as my arrival was on a cold winters day. The usual tea & coffee facilities and TV are available in the bedroom. I visited the hotels bar during the late afternoon where I found a choice of cask ales with mine being a very well kept Marston’s Bitter. I found the bar comfortable and warm with a nice open fire plus the availability of a few newspapers for the customers to read. There is an Italian Restaurant within the hotel which appeared quite popular with the local clientele on the evening. I returned to the bar on the evening and what a pleasant surprise it was to see a busy bar on a Wednesday night. Despite the bar being busy they were well staffed and the service was quick and friendly. The service and the atmosphere of the bar made my stay complete. The breakfast room in the hotel is nicely presented with ample space between the tables. My breakfast was brought to my table promptly with the quality and presentations exceeding my expectations, the ingredients wer
