Very good 8.0
Great staff, lovely building, shame about the show
Firstly the staff were friendly courteous and helpful, I cannot fault the ones we met on or visit....A1. It is a lovely old building, the room was great, my only slight criticism was that the decor, particularly the bathroom was a little tired, and the shower was not good at all, very little water pressure. The food was of a good standard, served with a smile. Overall the experience was very very good. The only little issue I did have was that I booked a table for a meal on line but did not get an e-mail confirmation, so I phoned a couple of days later to double check and the lady I spoke to assured me that she would ensure it was in the reservation diary. On the relevant evening I went to the bar and said I had a booking but one had not been made. This was not an issue as it happens as it was not a busy night, but had the hotel been busier this could have caused an issue. Never the less a very enjoyable stay and I would not hesitate to return.

Great Stay - Five Stars
Stayed over June 2019 for the Chester Races - checked in quickly - guys behind the bar very helpful. Lovely room, kept as really creepy which was great. Very clean, comfy beds and great breakfast. Everyone was really nice. Will defo be staying again.

Lovely guiding but lacks comfort in the room
Staff great...room small and the bed was rock hard in room 4 and the shower was very weak no pressure at all. Breakfast however was ace.

Good 6.0
The staff were really friendly especially James but the rooms are a bit dated and noisy

Very old building that was full of character and is currently being built up as a themed experience with a medieval story line being woven into it. We didn't really buy into this but it may prove very popular with certain tourists. Superbly sited for the town centre attractions but the drawback was parking on site is extremely limited and the room we were in was quite small and we missed having a bath.
