Staff were more confrontational than helpful. Lights kept going off didn’t even get offered a new room. Front desk staff were nowhere to be seen on multiple occasions. Customer service needs to be improved massively!!!

A nice hotel in a convenient location.
Quick and easy check in with lovely staff. The lobby/reception/bar area is very nice and welcoming. I booked a junior suite for my stay. The room had lots of good facilities but there were several things not working in the room (air con unit, cold tap in the kitchen) however, once this was reported to the front desk, it was dealt with quickly. The let downs were a really creaky bed and dirty bathroom floor/walls. The plus points were a well stocked kitchen, bottled water, nice toiletries and bathrobes/slippers. Overall I’d definitely make a return visit.

There was an absolute terrible smell like something had died An absolute vile smell I spoke to the reception and all they said was they are-so sorry and could not do anything else about it Only one really old lift working a big queue to use it on top of that my door key stop working so had to keep going down to get it reprogrammed In the end I had to leave this hotel and book into a different hotelVery very poor show

So disappointed with our stay at The Richmond. We checked in to our room and we’re unable to lock the door. We called reception who told us someone would be up to resolve the issue. After waiting around for almost 15 minutes we called back to be told the hotel doesn’t actually have maintenance on site on Sundays. Had I not called back we would have be left standing around as there was in fact nobody to send up. We were told to leave our things in the room and that everything would be ok (I basically could of left my belongings in the street as it covered the same level of security as leaving it in the room unattended). As a result of this, we missed a crucial part of the wedding we were attending in the hotel and had to apologise to the bride and groom for missing their first entrance as husband and wife. Starters had already been distributed so we were left eating cold soup.. just a disaster and such an upset as this completely tainted the day as the bride and groom were clearly upset / annoyed that our seats were empty on their arrival. This issue could have been resolved if we were told we could move to a different room but due to lack of communication we were left standing around when in fact we should have been raising a glass and toasting the newlyweds
