Location location locatipn
A heavily overpriced hotel staffed by pleasant people but some not always able to understand what was being asked and we were not always able to understand them. The compact bedroom faced, on the ground floor, a bedroom in which a large and noisy dog was kept. Reception told about constant barking but this continued intermittently during our 2 night stay. Door to bathroom was not easy to shut and as a result the door handle was almost off from being pulled. Hairs on the bath rim when we arrived were left in place by us and were still there 48 hours later when we left. The only plus points for this seriously expensive hotel are the pleasant staff and location. At breakfast first morning 3 men in suits took at least 10 minutes walking around the dining room and us talking loudly about alterations that were planned. Poor background to an average breakfast

Good hotel, but expected more...
Great location though I found overpriced. Hotel was nice but bathroom not perfectly clean and edges of bed stuck out and I kept hitting my shins.

Good hotel - but room location doesnt work
Lovely hotel We booked a superior room – the room was lovely, although not in the main building. Easy to get into the city centre (3 min walk). The only disappointment was the room was off the outside terrace – although this was supposed to be closed from 11pm, the hotel staff allowed a large party on the terrace until gone 1am, waking my husband and I up, meaning a call to reception. Not acceptable when paying a lot for an up market hotel. On check out the lady at reception did not ask us how our stay was – so we did voice again the issue from the night before. She did advise she would speak to the Bistro team to make sure this didn’t happen again – not really any benefit to us. Disappointing end to a one night stay; we have stay in several other Hotel Du Vin’s throughout the country. Maybe a reduction in the bar or parking bill would have been a token gesture….? Unfortunately would not rush back.

Beautiful hotel offering a very comfortable stay
Fabulously comfortable beds and pillows, amazing rain fall shower and all the usual amenities within the room plus a few extras (coffee machine and over 100 tv channels ). No onsite parking, but they park your car for you so just pull up outside and they take care of it (there is a parking charge ). Otherwise a beautiful hotel, very friendly staff and great dining and service.
