Not a country house hotel!
Because the restaurant and bar where very rarely open this establishment is really a bed and breakfast, rather than a country house hotel. At £133 per night it is an expensive B&B!

Island Paradise
Absolutely wonderful. A huge thank you to Mike, Carol and Angie for their helpful service, delicious food, very clean, comfortable and relaxing room. Excellent stay. Highly recommended. Saw lots of wildlife including red squirrels. I want to go back very soon !

Very Good8.0
A place for walkers and those who wish to tour
We arrived late in the evening but were welcomed by the hosts. Unfortunately the car park was full which meant that we had to leave our car on the park roadway. We were warned we may have to move it if there were complaints. The hotel is located in a large public park which hosted musical events whilst were were there. There is a footpath at the rear of the hotel through to the village but this does involve some steep steps down to the Chyne (stream) and a steep bank up to the village on the other side, otherwise there was a lengthy walk along the road to get there. We were shown to our room (Maple) which was large and very comfortable. The Ensuite however was quite small and the size of the bath made using it difficult. The room was however kept immaculately clean and well serviced. The room was quiet, at the back of the hotel and we managed to watch a pair of red squirrels playing in the garden. Only breakfasts were being served whilst we were there. They were freshly prepared with local produce and the portions were ample. The waitress was a mine of information of local events, walks, tours etc and with the information also provided by the hosts greatly enhanced our visit. The residents lounge was very comfortable. We did not see into the Bar. Definitely a place for walkers and those who want to tour a very nice island.
