Highly Recommend
I would highly recommend starting in Giza over staying in Cairo. We went into Cairo almost every day, but coming home to quiet Giza and watching the sunset behind the pyramids from the roof of this hotel was perfect. The hotel is nice, the rooftop is the perfect view of the pyramids, and breakfast is good, especially the falafel! The staff is very helpful.

Unbeatable view
Amazing location, really unbeatable view. Noisy at night time. Really friendly and hospitable hosts.

Great family guest house in fantastic location
Guardian Guest House is directly across from the pyramids so perfect for visiting this part of Cairo. The family who own the guesthouse are super friendly and lovely and let me check in early when I arrived on the sleeper train, and also helped organise a camel ride and taxis to get around. There is a fantastic roof terrace to watch the sunset over the pyramids and the light show. My room was huge and very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is quite far from central Cairo but easy to get to by taxi. The only downside is there isn't anything in the surrounding area but I stayed here at the end of my trip when I wanted to see the pyramids and relax so it was perfect for me.

Left a day early 2 star at best !!
This guest house is directly facing the pyramids but is very old and tired ! Beds are hard decor is old and needs replacing. Tv and Internet did not work. The water was off completely for 24 hrs so we were unable to shower or use the toilet. We were offered a bucket and cola bottle to get a wash with !!! Breakfast was typical Egyptian with only one cereal (cornflakes) no bread and warm milk, omelettes to order were very greasy !! On the plus side the people were extremely nice and helpful but they couldn't make the place stay able we left a day early after being woken at 3am by barking dogs which went on till 7am ! We moved to a hotel close to the airport which was cheaper and so much better. This is a 2 star property in a very loud Egyptian "hawker" area so you will be constantly harassed for money and generally made to feel uncomfortable

Lovely family run hotel . All hotel staff were extremely helpful and always ready to advise . The hotel opens into the pyramids and the phoenix and the views from the terrace are amazing , you can watch the sound and light show from there .The room was simple and basic but very clean with a comfortable bed . The hotel is in relatively quit area , I think car traffic is not allowed on the pyramid's street , saying that there will always be the prayers call , including one at 4-5 am but this is Cairo and it is unavoidable . Over all my impression of The Guardian Guest House is excellent .
