2/10 Poor

The concierge staff are rude. The rooms are dirty and small. The AC doesn’t work. The only pro would be the location.

2/10 Poor

This hotel lack the safety feature and proper communication in case of emergency that you would expect from a 4.3 star hotel. We were staying for a few days and on our 1st night the elevator broke and we were trapped (family of 4). We pressed the service button inside the elevator but there was no response. We phoned the hotel for at least 3 times and there was no response either. Luckily our relative just arrived (we’re talking close to midnight), so we phoned her and she made the walk to the reception. After what seemed like eternity, a couple of the hotel staff came with what looks like regular knife utensil to try and pry open the door. My relative was told they could not find the key to open the elevator door. After 45 minutes of being stuck in the elevator, sweating and hyperventilating, the hotel staff managed to break the bottom part of the door. Our choice was to stay inside the hot elevator or take our chances that the elevator will not move as we try to slide through the V opening. We took our chances and made it out but we feared for our safety while we squeezed in through the V opening. The worst part is no email, no note, no apology from hotel management. Who does that?We wouldn’t want any other family to go through the same ordeal we did. We book our travels through Expedia with the assumption that hotels safety is of prime importance but definitely not the case with the Rome Times hôtel. Very disappointed travellers.

4/10 Fair

Rome Glam Hotel, owned by the same group, is infinitely better. The rooms were small and dusty. Cracked tiles in the bathroom. The room needed a good clean. We were in the annexe. We didn't mind being in the annexe if the room was up to par but it was not. It was impossible to use the desk and have people pass behind you to get to the bathroom. Also, there was a confusion with the breakfast. We had three rooms. Upon entry to the breakfast, we were initially informed that only two of the rooms had breakfast. I confirmed that with Davide. Once we sat down, Davide asked us to pay ontop for six additional breakfasts. It turned out that Davide had miscommunicated and should have said that only one room had breakfast. Luckily not all of us had obtained food from the buffet so the rest of us decided to pay for a coffee instead of having a full breakfast. When the bill came, it was incorrect as we were still being charged for two breakfasts when we only had one additional breakfast and two coffees to pay for. When I went to settle the bill and asked Davide to correct the bill, there was still confusion. He and his colleague spoke in Italian to each other - not very professional. I was then asked "If I was sure we only had two breakfasts." I found this incredibly rude, it was if Davide believed we were lying. Nonetheless, he corrected the bill and we paid. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not stay here again. Visit the Glam!

8/10 Very good

Walkable location, nice staff
Overall it’s a nice hotel. The power went out in our room and the iron didn’t work, but they recovered well by jumping on both issues immediately. The service by their staff was great. We walked to all of the major sites within 15-20min. The rooms are large, making it a good option for Americans who are used to US sized rooms and beds. There is also a coffee shop, pharmacy, small market and pizza shop all on the same street, making your travels all the more convenient.
