The Abbey Inn
PLeasant stay
The welcome was friendly, and check in was quick. Our room was a tad smaller than we expected but it was fine for one night. The bathroom was rather small and difficult for me to negotiate, but i have problems with joints and should have asked this when we booked. There are a few steepish stairs to negotiate. Nothing was too much trouble though. Our friends were late for our meal but this was not a problem. The food was fine, can highly recommend the black pudding. I would have liked a choice of veg rather than just the new potatoes, peas and bacon, and salad. The breakfast was really really good - the sausages are outstanding. Dont miss them! Overall it was a pleasant overnight stay, friendly and welcoming, views of the river and the tables outside made it a perfect setting for a warmish spring night.

Great Value
Check in was quick and easy. All the staff were excellent and very friendly. Great value for money. Food was good - breakfast was to die for ! (cooked to order, hot and fresh).Set in a small village right next to the river Dart with nice views from the terrace. This may be described as a 'pub with rooms' but it was clean and comfortable with a nice atmosphere, nice staff and not pretentious like some hotels can be. Would recommend.

Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and great food (lamb shank amazing and fantastic bacon - the best ever!). Great value for money. Would definitely stay there every time I visit that area.

It’s a pub with rooms ! But the food was really good, no ce freindly staff, cannot fault effort. If anything worth the money, but good do with a bit of an upgrade to rooms, could charge more ?
