Good 6.0
good location - some rooms not fabulous
Rooms in this hotels are very variable - first room they offered me was terrible - on a low floor with no light looking at a wall - don't let photos of a sea view take you in. only after considerable complaining - there was a pile of garbage at the end of the hall - did the hotel find another room - still no view - but at least a bit higher so it felt a bit safer. if you travel during a busy period, time-share owners will get all the good rooms as happened to me.

Ok on the outside
Staff were great, position was excellent however the room was small and dated. Only a double bed in one bedroom and pull down (Murphy) in the lounge area. Couldn't use the couch as a bed as there wasn't enough room.

Exceptional 10.0
Labor Day Weekend
Pros: Front desk staff was very helpful and quick to get us checked in earlier than 4 pm. I loved our room and the kitchenette was great. Location was perfect for walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Nice ambience overall. Hotel= 5 stars Cons: Valet was only available at $35/day. There was an inexperienced woman at valet, but I didn’t want her lack of common sense and poor customer service to tarnish the hotel’s reputation. The woman at valet would not get our truck when my husband and daughter went to checkout with our bags. With our hotel bill IN HIS HAND, he asked why and the disrespectful woman said that the hotel was in my name and the valet tag was in our truck. (However, I listed my husband, son, & daughter equally on the hotel registration upon check-in, WHILE my husband had the truck taken care of at valet.) Upon leaving, I waited 8 min., and my husband and daughter waited about a total of 10-12 min. without service. If she was in charge, all she had to do is LOOK and READ the hotel bill for his name, or call the front desk to confirm. But no, I guess that even locals treat local guests like crap when one is not a tourist! I should have requested to have my parking fee reversed after such a hassle and wait, but why bother with someone so clueless who cannot read a hotel bill. Valet Parking= 3 stars for the guys working and driving the cars under the rude woman, 0 stars for her incompetence and no aloha for kama’aina. Hilahila o’e!

Great stay.
The staff was great. Friendly, helpful, a joy to work with. Valet parking was a nice feature and I thought it was reasonably priced. And they let us keep the car in parking, and they stored our bags in secure place long after check out time. In other reviews, people have complained about hotel fees and parking fees. It's Waikiki, nothing is free or cheap. If $40 bucks a day is make or break, don't go to Waikiki. Hotels was older and not perfect but it was nice and it was very clean. Location was great, close to the beach. Room was a little small for 2 adults, 2 kids, but it was fine. It's a place to sleep and change, so it was fine. I would stay here again.
