TRYP Lisboa Aeroporto

My daughter & I decided to eat in our room. I rang room service & was told I had to pay by cash or card. I had left a credit card pre authorisation at check in & queried this. Room service rang reception who apparently said I could not charge to my room. I rang reception who still said nothing was to be charged to the room. Eventually, they realised their mistake. I rang room service again & ordered to be given some attitude as clearly they didn’t like the fact they were wrong. The food eventually arrived & was pretty unappetising. I had to ask for a sachet of salt & 2 portions of ketchup. I raised this at check out & a cursory apology was given. The included breakfast is horrible. Both myself & daughter had upset stomachs after eating a few mouthfuls.

The hotel is at the airport. There is nothing else that is good about this hotel. It is unusual to find such a ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude in Portugal. The Hotel chain must train the staff hard and treat them badly, to create the desired environment. The hotel is not as new and well looked after as the price suggests. Even after paying the high room rate, there is a coffee pod machine in the room, it costs 1euro per planet polluting plastic pod, and to get one, phone down to reception! Every part of our stay left a bad taste in our mouth, including the breakfast. I don’t even know where to buy such sour orange juice in a country full of fresh oranges. Don’t go there, it’ll ruin your stay in Portugal.

Amazing pool and good breakfast.

The hotel was awesome as a stay close to the airport. With breakfast starting from 4am and other choices like that, it was the perfect stay close to the airport and an early flight.
