Just awful
I stayed 1 night for business, chose this hotel due to proximity to Connolly Station, good reviews and price (my company clearly needs to up the budget for Dublin). After an unfriendly welcome I was given the key to room 10, "just up the stairs". I had to go up 5 flights of stairs to reach it and the noise from outside was so loud it sounded like the window was open (it wasn't). I complained but there were no other rooms available. I had to go out and buy earplugs, luckily there was a pharmacy nearby or I don't think I would've been able to sleep. To top it all off, no hot water in the morning so I wasn't able to have a shower. Even if I could there was nowhere to plug a hairdryer in anywhere near the mirror. I don't usually like to write negative reviews but this was just awful, would not recommend for business travellers.

NO BREAKFAST
An excellent position and ridiculously helpful staff. Room size of ours was very good and having a coffee capsule machine as well as normal tea making facilities was a great addition. It’s a city hotel so don’t expect a view but and for my wife and I the deal breaker: the room was booked With Breakfast, we would not book any hotel without it despite a zillion places outside to have breakfast, it’s the time to take stock and plan the day and just relax but no, no breakfast: a carrier bag containing a warm orange drink, a plastic packaged rubbery croissant with a miniature jam and an oat cereal bar that often than not was broken up as it is like thick porridge left to dry out, in a word awful. Sorry to say that despite the good things we’ll never stay there again

Good place
Good location, plenty of room, clean and tidy, good and friendly reception staff

Excellent for a short stay
Amberley house - it's very central, easy to reach, and there's no fuss checking in or out whatsoever. Staff is friendly, helpful, relaxed. We stayed in room 1, ground floor, behind the reception. I think it is good value, considering the price. The beds are a bit soft, the bathroom outdated - but everything works as it should and it's clean. There's a big 'but' though - there are rather large inwardly pointed lights illuminating the building at night, and, the room. Not a problem for me but my partner had a hard time falling asleep. Staff tried to turn them off, but it lasted for a short while only. If you're visiting for one or two nights only, go for it. If you stay longer, go find something more comfortable.

Disappointing
I was disappointed with this hotel. It looks a little the worse for wear. It may be that it is clean, but it doesn't LOOK clean. The very small shower in my room just looked a bit dirty and the overall condition of the paintwork etc was poor. One of the two beds was so saggy in the middle. Staff were pleasant though and location was ok - just don't expect it to look as nice as the photos.
