Very Hot Room and ridiculously expensive for what

A packed Brighton was what we expected. No tea making facilities in our room also no air con andi t was bloody hot. Just a floor fan that was noisy had to have it on all night. For the above it was really expensive. Also needs a bigger more prominent Hotel sign to the exterior frontage.

    Good place to stay

It was good and clean but I would have liked help with luggage. In the room there was everything you need but the tv is on the wall but not facing the bed which wasn’t good. Everything else was fine.

    A glorified, overpriced youth-hostel

I stayed here for one night over the late May holiday weekend. Given that lockdown had recently ended and Brighton is always busy at weekends this time of year, and that I only tried to book 10 days in advance, it was unsurprising that a lot of better known hotels & chains in Brighton had sold out and that remaining rooms were expensive. This place had good reviews, so at £148 I took a punt on it. My room was a decent size and the ensuite shower-room was fine. The bed was comfortable. However, there was only a nightstand on one side - rather mean when there's a double bed. My biggest problem with the room was that the blinds were too narrow for the windows, and so light came in either side. The room therefore never got properly dark at night, and was light from 5am. Some people do not need a dark room to sleep - but plenty do - this shouldn't be an optional extra. Poorly fitting blinds are just cheap and unacceptable. Plus, there was a Nespresso machine in the room and some pods, but no instructions or labels for it/them. I couldn't use it. Other gripes: while breakfast was included in the price, because of social distancing we had to order on a sheet rather than helping ourselves to a buffet. I asked for a cappuccino; there was no chocolate powder. I'm gluten-free & there was gl-free bread, but no gl-free sausages (why not? Go to M&S...). Was I offered more of anything when I had finished? No. Plus the room smelled of bleach. Cheap - & very overpriced! Best avoided.

    Declining

Very noisy guests. Interrupted sleep. When mentioned at check out staff didn't seem concerned or even offer an apology.

    Comfortable and convenient

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was a strong smell of rectreational substances in one of the corridors however this could just be from an individuals clothing as there was no evidence of smoking. The staff were very friendly as usual. Big tip, empty the coffee machine reservoir after use! Unfortunately I came back to a puddle that had seeped into the bed linen.

    Hotel stay for business purposes.

Nice hotel, not so good parking, parked around 10 minutes away from the hotel. Brighton from when I visited 40 years ago has turned into what I can only describe as an unfriendly place for motor vehicles.
