Cheap and Cheerful
The location of the hotel is really great. The breakfast is lovely, simple with cereal, coffee, fresh bread and cheese but tasty. Be warned, there are no elevators so you will be climbing a couple of flights of stairs to get to your room. The rooms are very clean as are the bathrooms/showers, however, the walls are very thin and I could hear my neighbour snoring the entire night which didn't make for the best sleep! Finally, because of the outer construction, our windows were covered and we didn't have a view of the gorgeous views outdoors which was unfortunate and slightly left us feeling claustrophobic!

Good location cheap but room reflects that
Its in a good location you can walk to most things or get a tram for 2.90 euro, free if you get yellow bus on the day. I had trouble finding it but seems to be the norm in lisbon could do with more of a sign really. The room was basic, the bed comfortable, noisy outside but quiet at night slept ok. Shared toilets and showers and room has thin walls. Reception were super helpfull

Love hate guesthouse
We had a love/hate relationship & stay with Lisbon story guesthouse - which is exactly that - a guesthouse or hostel type accommodation and definitely cannot be classed as a hotel (and thus shouldn't really be listed on either so be warned if your looking for hotel creature comforts) What turned around an initial disappointment with the quality of the place; was friendly and helpful staff who are always available, a great central location for touring Lisbon, excellent access to public transport (for both train, metro, bus and taxis) and good local restaurants, takeaways and convinence stores on the doorstep. Breakdown of our stay and the apartment - Our 2-bed 1st floor apartment was clean but very basic. As their website will tell you - if your expecting a place with a TV, a lift, or A/C - look on as you won't get any here. We Found this hard as we have a 2 year old so getting a pram up and down and entertainment was tough going - you will need games and an iPad if you have kids - Living room again basic with bare white wash walls. Furniture included a large dining table, coffee table and 4-seater lounger sofa. A few books given. Balcony has a great view for people watching with new doors and windows - Bedrooms were basic with no wardrobe, safe or bed side cabinets. Some old chests included but we didn't feel like putting our clothes in them! - Kitchen area was small with the basics - Bathroom ok - but NO lock on the door!!!

Lisbon Story House - Great!!!
We were at Lisbon Story House for 4 days and were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff especially Joao who assisted us throughout our stay. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and much better than expectaion. Location was excellent,2 minutes from the central metro and rail station (Rossio)and enabled easy access to the Barrio Alto, Alfama and all other central districts of Lisbon. Also with the train station so close, access to other parts of Portugal was easy. All in all, this was and an excellent stay and vacation. Many congratulations to Lisbon Story House!

Nice little guesthouse in a great location
The staff is very friendly, the shared toilet is always very clean and the breakfast with good quality food. On the other hand, the rooms can be a bit noisy. Overall, highly recommended.
