We came off an early morning ferry and asked at the hotel if we could drop our bags but we were lucky as the helpful receptionist said our room was ready. A pleasant hotel in a great location in the centre of st malo. Only issue is the Irish bar located on one side which can be noisy late into the night

Staff were welcoming and helpful however the room had not been cleaned. When told the receptionist dealt with the issue very well to recover the situation. The carpet in the corridors was not clean but the room was comfortable with a great shower. Location good. But for the money the hotel should be cleaner.

Old town charm
Perfect location within the old town walls. Parking available just outside. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

A worthwhile stop over
Only there for one night before our ferry to Guernsey, but the hotel is brilliantly situated for touring the city and walking the walls. Lots of good cafes and restaurants around. The narrow street took a bit to navigate, but actually our TomTom took us all the way. One big help way booked parking in the hotel's garage. For me, this is a must. Rooms were 'rustic' but very comfortable. TV was amazing - BBC!!! Will use this again.

Inside wall family accommodation.
Staff very friendly and welcoming. Inside city walls with a sea view. Excellent family accommodation with enough privacy for teenage children. Recommend you book parking as parking can be difficult within city walls, although we were lucky and found a space in the little parking square just outside the hotel after 15 mins wait. Parking charges Not expensive if not staying long during daytime. Some of furnishings a little tired, but clean.

A bit rundown, but comfy and good location
The hotel is located inside the walls of the city, so the location was great. It was a bit stressful for driving, as the streets are narrow, packed with pedestrians, and lined with restaurants. It is manageable though, and there is fairly cheap parking right outside the hotel. It was free between 8 pm and 9 am. There is also parking outside the walls if it's too stressful. The room, while huge and pretty comfortable, looked like it was renovated in the 70s and would have been pretty groovy then, but hasn't held up well. The air conditioning did not work. This wasn't an issue for us as it was quite cool, but if we had been there a few days later when temps reached the high 30s I would have been pretty unimpressed. We did not notify them the AC didn't work, they might have dealt with it right away as the staff were quite friendly and helpful.

Pleasant Historic Hotel
Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a room on the side of the hotel, but it had a balcony that we could walk out on to see the water and fort. Parking is easy and inexpensive in the lot outside the hotel once you make it through the narrow, crowded pedestrian streets.
